I don’t know about you, but the Duggar family absolutely fascinates me. These people have 17 kids – and one more on the way in January! Here’s a snippet from a new interview with ParentDish on how they keep the home fires burning, how they manage all those kids, and the relationship between Jim Bob and Michelle.
On the marriage relationship
“The spark stays because we purpose to keep that spark,” said Michelle.
“We want to please the other one,” said Jim Bob.
That includes all the hidden love notes Jim Bob leaves for Michelle in her makeup bag and the daily morning cup of coffee or cocoa she serves him. Jim Bob complimented Michelle. “Her soft voice and sweet spirit melts my heart. And she looks really cute when she’s pregnant.”
On all those kids and getting along
“We’re not professional parents,” said Jim Bob.
“We’re still learning,” agreed Michelle.
“With each child it’s a whole new ballgame,” he said
“Because each one is so different,” she finished.
On how they manage all those kids
“Our goal as parents is to keep up with their hearts, not just their actions. They know they have a safe place to share their joys, failures and dreams.”
You can read the rest of the interview here. Whether or not you agree with their choices as a family, you have to admire how obviously happy and well-adjusted these people are, and their commitment to each other as a family. Definitely not for everyone, but it seems to work for them!
Wow Lucca you must be a super perfect person and you probably have adopted oodles of children too, right? Oh and btw the no one ever heard about the Duggars until they had their 16th child!!! What you say? Oh yes they must of done that to irrated you and take all YOUR space away and oh yes i forget they also EAT all of YOUR food since they have to do such a big grocery. POOR little you no place to go or to breath because of the big bad bunch of Duggars. Well I hope that you eventually find you space .
The reason that Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar have had so many children is that they love all the attention and publicity that they get from it. What are they doing that’s so great? We don’t glorify dogs and cats that have dozens of litters of offspring, do we??? No, we put the puppies and kittens to sleep since there are too many of them in this world.
All that the Duggars are doing is overpopulating an already overcrowded world with limited resources. By the year 2050, the earth’s population is estimated to reach 9 billion people. That’s almost maximum capacity for this planet and its resources.
Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar are really selfish and irresponsible. If they want a lot of children, why don’t they adopt some of the million or so orphans in this country and around the world???? The reason is because Michelle and Jim Bob think that by having so many of their own children, that they’ll get the attention and adoration that they so want.
They call themselves good “Christians”. Shouldn’t good and kind hearted Christians be trying to help others living in this world rather than making carbon copies of themselves???
i totally agree with the saying that kids are different and unique. i’m proud to see the Duggar family so sweet, powerful and soulful in taking care about their kids.
