In case you somehow missed me hollering about the great news (You only live a continent away? How could you not have heard that?) when CBS picked up Medium, here’s the announcement:
Folks, CBS has picked up Medium. The show will air between Ghost Whisperer and Numb3rs, which means I’ll have to start watching Ghost Whisperer again. (You killed her hubby, you murdering writers! A ghost is not the same!) However, I won’t have to stay up til 11 pm, because it will be on at 9 pm EST. And, there’ll be publicity. Actual publicity where people promote a show to draw viewers.
I’m not dreaming, am I? Please tell me I’m not going to suddenly sit up in bed to find it was all a dream.
By the way, now that all of the drama is over, I have to say that I find Silverman’s rant and the CBS NBC is off its rocker response to be absolutely hysterical. I am pretty sure that moving to CBS is the best thing that has ever happened to this neglected and abused show!
Medium Season 6, here we come!
Oh, you’re wondering about the baseball crowd photo, right? Well, it is because of the no Medium fan letters comment. I simply don’t believe it. I figure if NBC execs were at the above game, they’ll soon be reporting that no fans bother to attend baseball games either and I wanted you to see that people were there in the seats. Unfortunately, I don’t have a photo of Medium fan letters for you to see, so we’ll have to do a little investigating. If you sent a fan letter about Medium, stand up and be counted! Leave a comment saying, “Hey, I know I wrote one. What am I? Chopped liver?” or something like that.

I am so happy right now! I wrote a letter to NBC telling them how stupid they are, and I sent another to CBS begging them to take the show. Does this mean Medium starts in the fall? Or does it still start in the winter?
yikes! i’ve been away on medium-hiatus for the last season, and i am just starting to catch up again, so i was surprised to see all this drama about the show! i’m so glad i came back to find that it had all been resolved, and Medium is safe!! sorry, i can’t raise my hand as a ‘fanletterist’, but if i had been aware of the threat, i would have written one for sure! (although, that really doesn’t count as sitting in the stadium i guess..)
Medium will be on in the FALL, getting a full 22 episode pick up.
Look what all of the Chuck fans did for us.
They got Medium a better deal than it would have at NBC, a sinking network.
I’m so chuffed that Medium is coming back!
Totally made my day.
I didn’t write any letters, but I did send a comment to CBS, posted comments all over the web on various sites, and joined Twitter. I went a little comment crazy for one night.
I’m looking forward to season 6, although I can see I’m going to get a little muddled if I watch season five again as it finally airs in my world.
YAY for season 6, now if I could have either a Halloween (Blame the cuteness of Marie as a pea pod for this) or even better Christmas with the Dubois family! Yes, I’m getting a little ahead of myself here.
OMG i’m so happy about it!!! Thx to CBS!!! Now i hope that the 6th season comes to germany, too! If not i don’t know what i should do!
MWA, thanks! I’m so happy to here it’s getting a full season. Ghost Whisperer is my other favorite show so this couldn’t have worked out any better.
YIPPEEE!!!! (**DOING THE HAPPY DANCE!!**)
Can you tell how HAPPY I am right now?!!! I am TOTALLY LOVING CBS right now!!
Thank you, Nina Tassler and Les Moonves!! (now my two favorite people in Hollywoodland!!)
How awesome are they? Let me count the ways-
1) Not only are the saving Medium from cancellation, but it’s jumping from the #4 network to the #1 network (where it rightfully belongs)!!
2) They’re not only giving it a full season order, but they’re bringing it back in the fall instead of making us wait for months and months for it. (As it should have been for all these years)
3) And it’s moving from the toughest night of the week, to probably the best night of the week. A lot of people call Friday the death slot, but that’s not true for CBS. CBS routinely wins Fridays in the ratings. It’s the only network that anyone watches on Fridays.
4) Now it’s FINALLY getting a decent lead-in in Ghost Whisperer (I now take back everything I have ever said about that show!) and a great lead-out in Numbers. Both of those shows average around 10M viewers a week, so this is probably gonna boost Medium’s ratings big time!! Yippee!!
Ben Silverman must be mad enough to spit nails now!
And did anyone read his comments about CBS picking it up, when he said that Medium’s ratings were worse than two of the shows that CBS cancelled? How crass. But CBS was quick to point out that Medium’s ratings were higher than four of the shows that NBC renewed!!
Burn!! NBC and CBS have got a big ol’ p***ing match going on over Medium!! LOVIN’ IT!!
Katelyn, I think my comment got stuck in the spam filter! But Yippee!! I’m so happy that Medium is moving to CBS!!
Yea! I think that Medium will be much better off on CBS.
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the BEST news ever..CBS is officially my new god..j/k…LOL..this is so great..
I did write a letter to CBS via their website and am going to write them another one thanking them for saving our show..YES!!!!
Good job fellow Medium fans for all of the writing comments,etc..I am so happy about this!
“YIPPEEE!!!! (**DOING THE SNOOPY DANCE!!**)”
I was so relieved when I read about this news yesterday. Thank Goodness for NBC!
I am so in LOVE with CBS right now! Imagine, they’ve already given Medium more publicity and positive comments than NBC ever did! It will be back in the fall AND with a full 22 episodes order! Is that terrific news or what? Thank you, thank you, thank you CBS!
I guess NBC wants to be the 5th place network – they’re already firmly entrenched at number 4.
Funny how it was picked up IMMEDIATELY and placed on the schedule right away. You go CBS!
The only thing I will watch at NBC is Chuck – hey NBC, why don’t you let CBS have Chuck too and then I’d NEVER watch NBC again! Ha!
woohoo thank u CBS!!! i love medium!!
i hope medium doesnt take too long untill it comes to germany
***i love lee^^***
that is ssuch great news!!! i am beyond happy. i sent an e-mail to CBS ansd i guess i wasn’t the only one. great job everyone. i hope medium is gonna do really well on the new network so we can enjoy it for years to come!!! Medium is AWESOME!!!!
Hallelujah!!
i’ve already heard about this news from somewhere else but still i’m so so happy about this fact
and moreover, 22 full episode pickup?!
i totally appreciate the attitude CBS has taken towards Medium
That are very good news! I’m so happy now.
Long-Life to Medium!
I, too, did not write a fan letter, but Medium is my favorite show! NBC did not provide this show with enough publicity! And, can I mention the dumb idea of only airing it mid-season? I am hooked, so I waited almost an entire year to watch it, but others, who may not be so devoted, lost interest in that amount of time. Anyways, this is a GREAT cast with GREAT chemistry and THE best show on television! Go CBS! xoxo
The reason no one wrote a fan letter was because the show was already listed as renewed, so of course no fan mail came in professing their love for the show. They didn’t even announce that they were canceling Medium! What a load of tosh, in my opinion!
I watch a LOT more CBS than NBC. NBC ain’t seeing me anymore I guess.
I’m kind of sad that it got moved to Fridays at 9 though – I really did like it on Mondays. It made the Monday seem not so dull, and Friday’s I usually go out with friends, so I don’t watch TV on Friday’s. All I can say is thank god for our pvr. Otherwise I would have to catch it at a later time!
I love NBC’s comment that there were no fan letters. It proves just how behind the times they are over there. Clearly they do not count blog posts, tweets, or even comments left on their very own NBC/Medium website and message boards. They just don’t get it. Thank god Medium is moving to CBS where it might actually get some respect.
Oh my gosh!!!! I am soooooo happy!!!!!!! I couldn’t believe it when I heard Medium was being canceled. It’s my favorite show!!! I feel like I’m part of the Dubois family. Love Patricia and Jake (and everyone else!)! Great move CBS…. you have a life long viewer. And nbc… what were you thinking?
Hey Sheila! How’ve you been? Miss you!
I am so very thankful to CBS who have already treated PA and GGC better than NBC ever did!
NBC is already the 4th place network and this week, the ep of Medium was their highest rated show – but they canceled it – way to go NBC! Fools!
i already lost prison break. this would have just killed me.
Haha, Shenine you are so right.
Funny thing too, I was just thinking about Medium tonight, and I get a Medium dreams e-mail, haha!
I’m just wondering, has anyone seen the pilot for Glee? It looks AH-MAZING.
Hi to all Medium Fans. I came here to find out if Medium was cancelled. It was BUT only to have CBS pick it up, if I have read correctly. Too many good shows get cancelled and I am so glad to have more Medium to watch.
I too found my way to this site while trying to find out the fate of Medium. A few weeks ago NBC was previewing the season finale as the “series finale” and I was so upset and depressed to think I would not get to spend anymore time with the Dubois Family. Then NBC showed the same previews but said it was the “season finale”. I got confused, but I was hopeful! Imagine my delight when I learned this fabuloous news! Thank you ABC!
I watch medium over here in the UK (but I got ways of watching all the current episodes, I never even knew anyone was concelling the show or even picking it up
I know I posted fanmail, right back when the series first started
I take it that the people at NBC are off with the cookcoos, they certainly dont know who is watching their shows
Whats wrong with these people, they are best mates with Gordon Brown, he dont listen either, only one point of view, their own
I hope that the follow on series (6) will be picked up by Sky TV (now thats a company that knows and listens to its customers, if they want to keep em, they have to put on the popular shows)
But I have noticed an awfull lot of shows do disappear from US TV, with no explanation, not rubbish shows, but really good home entertainment, they do keep the lame reality shows going, I guess they are cheap and the people in them share the same brain cell, may as well just get a feed from a CCTV camera, that maybe more entertaining
Does anyone know the new start date for Medium ?
(I dont know when fall starts or finishes or when winter starts, we only have autumn and winter here, but still not really sure when they start, if its cold I put a jacket on
Hey!
This is great!
I am from Germany and I love Medium, we are at season 3or 4 at the moment, but I watch the show in english so I always catch up.
I hope there will be more seasons. This is a great show I have enough of stupid casting shows, dance shows and reality soaps. This is a real show with an intelligent story and professionel actors/actres. No just married happily unrealistic couple and a farytale.
I Love Medium.
Since no one is currently updating this site, I thought I would post here that CBS has announced that Medium will premiere on CBS for the 6th season on Friday, September 25!
Isn’t it spectacular that we have an actual premiere date and don’t have Medium in limbo coming back maybe on a Sunday, or who knows what day and date on NBC? Hooray for CBS! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Thanks for the update, I live in the UK, no one even mentioned or said it had been cancelled, but I cheat and watch it online using a proxy server
Its about the only decent program left now, got to wait till next year for 24, and god knows when the Unit will be starting again
Thanks again for the updates, its really appreciated
Derrick, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but CBS decided to cancel The Unit. As far as I know, no one else has picked it up, so it looks like there won’t be any new episodes of The Unit.
Early reports were that Medium HAD been renewed on NBC, but then at the last minute, they decided to cancel it. Fortunately for us, CBS was waiting for that to happen and snapped it up lickety split! CBS is a much better network than NBC anyway and has already treated Medium with more respect and promotion than NBC ever did in the 5 years it aired there. It’s definitely one of the better shows on TV – it was the BEST show on NBC.
Thank God for CBS!! I may never have sent fan mail, but if someone can show this to both NBC and CBS, then hopefully this will count…Actually, I guess I’ll just send one to them myself!! I Love Medium, and so also do my daughters! We are all very much into the supernatural, right up there with Ghost Whisperer..But Medium, is my favorite of the two….I am so glad that Allison will not be leaving me without a medium crime solving friend in my life for a while just yet…(yeah, I know she’s not REALLY my friend…But her character feels as though she could quite easily be one and I don’t pick my friends loosely by any means..I trust very few people…Guess that’s why I enjoy watchingsome tvnow and then. And Medium is Number One on my list!
Thank you CBS!!

Yeah me and my mom love the show too. I’m REALLY glad, but my Mom doesn’t care for the show as much as I do.
I get attached to things really easily, but I’ve ACTUALLY been watching this show since I was like in grade 6 or 7.
[...] new surfaced that CBS would be saving Medium, taking over production of the series from NBC, Patricia Arquette was on hand for the 2009 CBS [...]
I am so glad that CBS take over Medium!
I live in Hong Kong, and I really care about Aillson!!!
Thanks god!!!I can watch it on sept!!!!!
Thanks for that Betty, I never knew the Unit had been cancelled, oh, well another executive decision has been made, by those faceless people
I’m glad that Medium has been picked up, I really cant beleive its due to lack of viewers it was cancelled
I know that Medium is a fictional show, but the writers and production team have done it really wewll, they get the viewers involved on an emotional scale, that’s what has made it so popular
It’s a story of someone with exceptional powers trying to be a normal person and run a happy household, anfd hold a job down a husband who has all the worries that every husband/father has, a handfull of kids who know it all and are still growing up (with all the trials and tribulations that will bring)
I dont have any exceptional powers, but I certainly can relate to the program, and LONG may it run
Thanks to everyone in here for all your ‘interesting’ remarks and comments
Hi Guys,
So let me get this clear, Medium Season 5 Episode 19 was the last which NBC used to air now we have to wait next season on CBS?
So, Season 6 is under way on CBS, that is funny, we had to wait 5 years for Medium to be noticed. I hope that they don’t change the cast, I like all of them just the way they are.

im sooooooo HAPPY that CBS took medium! thank you CBS and the only reason i used to watch NBC was because of medium but now ill just go straight to CBS and watch all my shows there! NBC is a bunch of dummies for letting medium go!
Well, I’ll admite I wasn’t as happy as you guys were about the change, but now that I think about it I’m okay. If it didn’t go to CBS I would have been very disappointed. I wonder will it pick up on where it left off. I can’t wait to see it in September ;D

Thank heaven for CBS, they saw a good thing and went with it. I was most upset the NBC didn’t “C” what a great show and cast they had. Their loss CBS’ gain and all fans of the show are the winners.
Whomever, at CBS, was smart enough to pick it up kudos to them.
A grateful fan
