In celebration of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’s two year anniversary, I thought I would dig up some pictures of them from the last few years. You’ll see pictures of them from when they were dating, their wedding day to some more recent ones.

Would anyone else agree after looking at these pictures over the past couple years that Katie really seems to have aged? I mean she still looks great but I think she looks much older than in her 20s especially over the past year…

Ooops. I was wrong. Katie’s birthday is December 18. I thought their wedding was on her birthday!
I agree, jen! My first thought when looking at these picture was “Oh my goodness, Katie has aged 10 years since those first pictures were taken less than 3 years ago”!
I don’t know why it’s happened. Whether its the strain of the relationship, or what, buy IMO she doesn’t look nearly as happy or healthy as she did at the start of the relationship.
I had the same feeling! I think Katie still looks great, especially around the time of the AFI FEST 2007. But what happened? How does a person go from looking like a young adult to someone who now looks older than her actual age in such a short time?
I was going to say “motherhood” would be the answer, but on second thought, I have friends who became mothers and they never aged as much.
Whatever it is, I think she is still a pretty woman, and Suri is such a lovely girl.

I don’t think she looks aged ten years, does she look 39 in that costume gala party picture? Or in the AMS play pictures? She seems to favour a more grown up mature look these days. Look at the pictures in the AMS play, she looks very young and yet they are recent.
In candids though, she seems to favour a more mature look, I get that is part of the reason she cut her hair.
I do miss her hair though.
People, I’ve been saying this for months, how different she looks, look how thin she is at the Mad Money premiere or more recent E Stone. There is something not right, but I’m not going to speculate as to what, because I don’t know, but I will say what my 2eyes see. I see a young woman who has lost a lot of weight, especially from her face, she does’nt look healthy, like she used to and honestly nor does she look happy anymore, the once beautiful hair has been replaced by a style that does nothing for her and only draws attention to how she used to look and makes you wonder how a young woman can change so much in 3yrs, Katie does look much older now than most actresses her age, yes she still looks good, but we’re not talking about a 40yr old who still looks good , she’s only 29, she should be looking better, not worse, and you only look better if you’re happy. t be easy for TC to live through the backlash and humiliation that he’s gone through , you have to have had a giagantic ego to have reached his level of stardom, and then have it crash on you like that( and its not over yet), For everyones sake I hope Valkyrie does well. I think I speak for a lot of people when I say , wish the old Katie would come back.
its ashame how negative people are katie is now the most beautiful ive ever seen her what i see is a young lady that has it all she has fould her passion tom their 3 kids and a good career who has come out of her shadow her joey shadow shes a grown woman with kids a o very loving and supporting husband yes katie and tom and baby suri has been trashed and humiliated but part of it has been by people who said it wont last look what he did to nicole well kate is not nicole she has left tom shadow because she wants to nicole waited to after the divorce that was her fault katie choosing not to i love that the are proving the haters wrong how they kept thier precous angel private for so long but people hated that and trashed a newborn now they are not trashing other people who flaunted their pregnancy which i dont blame who want to keep their baby private now katie you are beautiful and your family i admire her so much more than the other couples they put on a pedastel they have outclassed the haters proving love does conquer all if icould talk to katie i would say on dawsons creek you were a little girl but i like you better as a woman you have made a wonderful life for yourself and showed everbody what you are made of and that is some tough s t and you are beautiful smart nice sweet and 2 words describe you ive never said this about any other star the 2 words are PURE CLASS
I agree that Katie is a very classy woman HOWEVER, I can’t ignore the major changes that I see in those pictures. I couldn’t stop sighing at the older ones. She looked fresh, young, vibrant, even stunning! In fact, I think that her face in the photo where she was pregnant with Suri looked AMAZING! She is one of those lucky woman who looks better with her face filled out. AND HER HAIR, SO SO BEAUTIFUL. I am a mother in my twenties like Katie. I have a little girl and I am also a singer that has performed in many musicals and loves the stage. (this is why I love and admire Katie) I realize that our similarities end there because her everyday life,and stresses etc. are completely different. The point that I want to make here is, There are bumps in the road of marriage, there is a ton of pressure for woman(especially famous) to get RIGHT back in shape after giving birth, there is pressure to be a good mother, But we have to fight hard to keep that light inside alive and not become swallowed whole by all these things. I love KH but I feel like she is losing that fight and I believe that you can totally see it in the pictures. Even in the recent ones where she is smiling, you can see that her smile is not the same. We all see how much she loves that baby, now I think it’s time for her to start loving herself the way she used to!
sorry but we all know how much she loves tom suri and their other kids and they say that about katie smile for 3 years thats nothing katie loves herself plenty going out and geeting her own life taking care of her family at the same time that love but forget about us its what katie is saying what she has said she is happy and loves her kids and husband sorry but she does 6 shows wears no m akeup outsde and shes stii beautiful i hope she keeps ignoring the haters and enjoy her wonderful life she says she has they deserve it
Clearly, the pressure to be thin has gotten to her. She needs to hire a personal trainer who can help her have the slender lower body that she obviously craves, while maintaining some flesh on her face. Right now, she looks like someone who doesn’t eat a healthy diet.
Some ppl in here agree that once you become a mother and a wife it is ok to let yourself go- that why many of those women lost they husband – and their children are embarrassed to see with them- as a mother myself – I am proud to be a mom and wife so I maintain a career in business – always remain the preppy young woman that I was now I am Kathy age 29 yrs old. Therefore, I would not agree to let go of you. PS this wed site pop up on my comp- I don’t know Kathy who is she? She is Beautiful- hope she have more yrs like my marriage- however, she need to maintain her happiness – no one will do it for her. God bless them
When you compare the pictures yes katie does look better than. She looks fresh, unguarded, and rested. But you mommies out there know that once you have a child your life changes. They really do become the #1 priority and I do believe that, that is what katie is doing. Her life has changed a lot since she got married to Tom and had a child. Her new image reflects that. She seems comfortable in comfy clothes and stepping out au naturale. I admire her for that. How many woman would have the courage to do that and know that their photograph will be published the next day. That takes courage as far as I am concerned. Now, who really expected this couple to make it to their 2nd anniversary? Yet, here they are. I really wish them well. And as far as if Katie is happy well that’s her business.
What’s with all the analyzing Katie? Is she too skinny? Why is she too skinny? Is her hair the right cut? Enough with the crazy comments!!!!!

The three children are not “their children”. Suri is their child. The older children are Tom and Nicole Kidman’s children. Saying that is disrespectful to Nicole and very, very unfair since we don’t know what goes on in their personal lives. Katie is their stepmother and although I’m sure she cares for them very much, she is not their mother.

I couldn’t agree with your post more if I had written it myself!! I too think something is very off with Katie. I don’t know what it is, but she’s not the same person she was a few short years ago. It makes me sad. It has nothing to do with her fashion choices either.
Michelle if you go back many years you’ll see that Katie very rarely wore make up , and it just might be the weight loss that gives the impression about everything else that we have discussed. Her weight loss began around the time she started hanging around with VB, saying that I must admit I like the above clothes she looks great in them but I don’t mind a lot of the casual stuff she ’s wearing now its different but Ilike it.
She looks so different than she did a few years back. I have been saying for months now how painfully thin and stressed out she appears. Her face has lost its luster and would a stylist PLEASE PLEASE tell her to grow her hair back. That short hair of hers looks dreadful with a capital D. I used to rave and think she was stunning, and she definitely was. Now, she just looks vapid and listless. Someone from her inner circle…please step in and tell her she looked better before. And, GAIN WEIGHT!!!
I don’t mind the short hair. I actually grew to like it. I do agree it has been quite a transformation for Katie. Like some of you have said, it’s not for us to speculate as we don’t live her life. Thinking of myself and many of my female friends over the years, I know us girls have a tendency to change our behavior, looks, attitudes, likes/dislikes – SOMETHING – depending on who we are with. Not necessarily change FOR a guy, but that a guy might bring something out in us we haven’t shown before. Possibly the look she’s taken on in the last couple of years is REALLY her and it just took TC (and his $$$…*wink*) to bring it out of her.
I love the earlier pics of TomKat. Katie looks so gorgeous and her skin is just flowing and so fresh looking! She really was looking so gorgeous. I think the too-short haircut is not so flattering to her now, time to grow back her beautiful locks and to try to rest a little. She looks too tired. As for her body, i think her body looks terrific. She has always been thin in my opinion, with just a few fluctations up and down here and there.

The fact that with make up and long hair Katie looks like her old self in AMS makes me believe that there is nothing wrong with her and this new look is what she wants. Yes she looks different but I like her new hair too.
We see her more often now, every day for the last two months, obviously there are more pictures of her looking worse for wear because she has no make up. Most of her pictures before she was heavily made up. That is because she was at functions or on the red carpet. You cannot be made up like that when you are going to work every day. I have seen Heidi Klum look 10 years older on some days, many actresses come to think of it have their no so good days.
I know some of you- not Annie- but others would like to believe that it is something to do with getting with Tom but I disagree. This is the happiest I have seen her. Yes she does look tired sometimes but have you seen her co stars? That is broadway for you. Look at her pictures at the fashion gala, her hair is short and she looks smashing and that was not so long ago.
Quit over analysing. If she wants that new mature look, then good for her. May be it will stop people from trying to save her. LOL.

AI’m telling you guys, its her hair, its too short , it does’nt suit her, it makes her look older, this mature look started when she began going shorter and shorter. Some of the above pics, the pic with the red dress and bob is only months old, the longer the hair , the nicer Katie looks, yes she has lost weight, but I don’t think she is thinner now than what she was at JAMES PACKERS wedding (south of Fance) it was just after she first cut her hair, it was shorter but the length suited her, it had a lovely thickness to it. A couple of days ago, on JJ, they had a pic of Wynona Ryder, she cut her hair similar to Katies and she also looked older,really older, I was shocked. I’ll bet anything , I’m so convinced the culprit in this situation is Katies HAIR!

I’m sorry but in my opinion, using the whole “I’m a mom now so it’s ok to look frumpy and washed out” excuse is crap. When Katie has these outings (with Suri for example), you can see that she’s taking her time, no rush, nowhere to really have to “run” off to, etc. You cannot tell me that she couldn’t take 3 minutes out of her day to dab on ATLEAST a little colored gloss and concealer! Taking 3 stupid, little minutes for yourself when you’ve done the “Mommy thing” all day does not take away from you child WHATSOEVER. I HAVE to run around and do my own groceries, there’s nobody to do that for me. I have to get up early, fix breakfast, take my daughter to preschool, clean, WORK to pay my bills,be there to teach, nurture and guide my daughter, have playdates, run errands, balance a marriage in the middle of all this but through it all, I CHOOSE not to forget about myself and I CHOOSE to take 5 minutes to brush my hair and put on a little bit a makeup. THAT IS TRUE COURAGE!
Doesn’t anyone on this site get older at all, or do they stay perpetually young?
For crying out loud, these are real people. We all have our good days and bad days and hope no one tears us to pieces like some critics here.

In the older photos Katie did look so fresh, young, vibrant, and I do miss that Katie look, but i don’t blame Tom for her change. I think Katie got married, had a baby, and decided she wanted to change and look older and more mature. Maybe it has something to do with being married to an older man or having a lot of money and being able to buy expensive designer clothing but not having the best taste to pick out the best outfits. The hair is definatley a major factor in the difference between then and now. If her hair was still long she would definately look younger. I’m 25 yrs old and I have really long hair like katie in the first photos and I want cut it until I get older just because I know it will make me loose some of my youthfulness. I do think Katie’s short hair is edgy but I liked it better long. Just my opinion, you don’t have to agree!

I’d say that marrying an older man might influence how she feels and dresses. Tom’s not only pushing 50, but he seems like a very conservative type who wants his women to look super expensive. Remember, he wasn’t able to hold onto the last few young women he courted. Who knows if he would have held on to Katie if he hadn’t gotten her pregnant.
