According to People – On Wednesday, lawyers for both Sheen and Richards asked that the case be removed from Los Angeles County Superior Court and handed over to a private arbiter, retired commissioner Jill Robbins. Until that time, the pair – who split last spring while Richards was seven months pregnant – seemed to be patching things up. After their daughter Lola was born last June 1 (older sister Sam turns 2 in March), Sheen and Richards had been spending more time together, including a 65th-birthday party for Sheen’s father Martin on Aug. 7.
You’ve got to give them an A for effort. At least they tried and tried again before throwing in the towel. I think that shows a true level of committment for the children at least.
