A little while ago, I wrote that there was speculation that Cher will join Christina Aguilera to co-star in her film Burlesque. It’s now official and Cher has indeed signed on for the role!
Cher’s character will be that of a former dancer who is struggling to keep business running in her neo-burlesque club. This is the same club where Christina Aguilera’s character arrives, seeking to make something of herself. Cher is actually going to sing and dance in the movie which is a first – despite having an epically successful singing career AND acting career, Cher has never actually combined the two before.
You know who else I would love to see join the cast in a supporting role? Dita Von Teese who has made quite the name for herself as a modern-day burlesque star too. That would totally complete casting for me!
