Christian Bale covers the May 22nd issue (on newsstands May 18th) of Entertainment Weekly. The title reads “Terminator is Back. What Don’t You #!$@% Understand?!”
In an interview with EW, Christian Bale talks about recharging another fading franchise with Terminator Salvation. And to think, two years ago he didn’t even want to read the script!
“I went, ‘No, I don’t even have to read this,’” Bale says. “I just thought, the mythology is dead. I mean, I did flick through it, because you can always be surprised. But I wasn’t surprised by what I read in that one.”
An interview with Bale wouldn’t be complete if he didn’t talk about his well-known on set rant, right? His little profanity-laced tirade was leaked on the internet and everyone, I mean everyone was talking about it!
What did Bale have to say about that whole thing?
“I don’t care to go into details because, you know what, I don’t believe in making excuses,” says Bale. “It doesn’t matter. It was unacceptable. I went too far. And I learned from it.”
He goes on to talk about how surprised he was at the attention it got and that he was afraid it would overcome the movie itself.
“I was surprised at people’s interest. Yes, I was surprised at myself hearing it back. These things happen, and you don’t realize how long you’re going in the heat of the moment. I would just say: inexcusable, my fault, yes, I did it, no excuses.”
Why did he apologize on the radio? “I was being told how it had gone like wildfire, and I was worried that it could completely overwhelm the movie itself,” he says. “There’s so much hard work that’s gone into this. We had 77 days of smooth running and four minutes of me just going way too far – and that shouldn’t characterize the making of the movie. My concern was that people would unfairly judge the movie based on my bad behavior.”
This is definitely a fascinating interview with Christian Bale. You can read more of the interview at EW.com.

All I have to say is that he’s a real man,and more importantly, a human being with flaws, weaknesses, and frailties, just like all of us. He’s THE HARDEST WORKING ACTOR IN HOLLYWOOD,and yes, when you’re that in demand, and under that much pressure to perform, anything can tick you off.To the contrary,he is by no means a Prima Donna,as has been accused. He’s quite the opposite. He’s lived his life under the radar, out of the spotlight, and as much a normal person as you or me,for years now. Now,he’s constantly being followed and photographed by the paps, something he detests, and the rant pretty much put him on the map and he’s been seen by some as a “mean egotistical maniac” which is so NOT true!!!!
I’ve been a long time fan of Christian’s and I know enough about him to know that he’s different, and he wants to be treated like everyone else,he’s a great family man with a gorgeous family. I wish him all the best. I love him♥♥♥
