When Christina Aguilera recently posed for Macy’s 150 Birthday ad campaign, I found her photograph strikingly beautiful.
I looked at all the fine details of the photo — the flowers behind her, the detailing in the skirt of the dress, the color on her lips, her messy hair. But it was her eyes and her pose that drew me in and I realized that Christina Aguilera was seducing me –well, ALL of us –in a very classy way!
I’ve been looking at different photos of Christina lately and have come to the conclusion that Christina Aguilera has mastered the Art of Seduction!
The primary definition of seduction refers to a temptation or enticement to sex. But my definition is much broader. I believe you can be seduced into wanting something for [non-sexual] pleasure. And when I look at a Christina Aguilera photo and she has that perfect pose, I realize that whatever she’s selling, I want to buy.
When Christina wears this beautiful Macy’s gown, I am tempted to run to Macy’s to find one like it. I want to dress up like a little girl and look just like a beautiful princess.
But Christina isn’t just selling Macy’s. When I look at her tousled hair I immediately think of Christina Aguilera, sex kitten! Rawwrr! Her eyes portray a classy femininity yet have a ‘come hither’ look.

Christina Aguilera IS sexy. And she knows it. And we know it. But I think that Christina really enjoys sharing her femininity, her charm, her confidence, and her sexuality.
Some people use these things to get ahead in life. Perhaps they have something to prove and they try to sell themselves. But I don’t get the feeling that Christina Aguilera is selling anything but Christina. I don’t think she’s secretly telling us to go out and buy Inspire, unless she’s specifically stating so.
For example, take a look at this next photo. I think it’s a beautiful photo of Christina. She’s posing, for sure. But her eyes, her lips, and her posture tell us she is a self-assured woman who is secure in her beauty, inside and out. Christina Aguilera is, after all, Beautiful.
So here Christina Aguilera poses for us. She’s not selling me her earrings, or her scarf, or her hair color. She’s simply selling the confidence and strength that is Christina Aguilera.

NOTE: I guess I’m not the only one who thinks Christina has mastered the Art of Seduction! Christina was on the cover of Maxim Magazine in March 2007 — and the title was Christina Aguilera and the Art of Seduction. Who knew?!!

Great article. I love the third and fourth photos. Class and glamour are back! Xtina’s a classic throwback beauty from the 1940-1950s era and is the epitome of old-Hollywood glamour. I’ve always been a fan of the old Hollywood glamour style, btw. I think she’s got the look that women like me try to emulate. She’s changed to a more mature and sexier image that says “I Am Confident With Who I Am As a Person” all the way. She’s the real deal. I can’t wait to see what’s next… Yeah, I want that gown too! It’s beautiful. I have one similar to it, in red satin plaid, but not as puffy… Good work Betsy*
