Christina Aguilera’s tribute to James Brown at the Grammy Awards

NICELY done. Really good. I’m sure somewhere that James Brown is so happy about this he’s beating down a ho.

Well, Christina did a stunning job. That chick is a very powerful performer and thats why they chose her to do it coz they knew she could pull off a James Brown. Now that performance has made history and is the 3rd greatest moment in Grammy Award history. Only a powerful vocalist can do that. BTW, bad high note? no it wasnt, if you research about your music AND you sing just like I do, you would realise that that was actually a good note….

I agree with you Imprl. -and it is just sad btw.

Mariah Carey with her falsetto high note? those high notes are sung via her neck/throat muscles and not from her gut. Whitney has lost it. Aguilera is latina not white. Jim seems to have the only decent/knowledgeable comment on here. Diasy and teepee, you two are the reason most men think women’s opinions are invalid

Christina deserves a 6/10 for this. She can’t hit the high notes as beautiful as Whitney Houston or Celine Dion and Mariah Carey. She sounds a bit tired..

I’d give her 9/10 as I’m sure that the scream was her way of paying tribute to James Brown’s trademark scream. However, only having one singer do a one song tribute to Mr. Brown, totally inadequate. That boardcast was what–3 1/2 hours?–and less than 5 minutes were dedicated to James Brown. Total garbage. But then again, the Grammys ignored JB during his lifetime,so it’s expected I guess.

Pretty good tribute… I would give her an 8/10… as her vocals are very powerful for a small, white girl like herself! She sings a really bad note though when she goes high… sounds like a cat dying! lol
