OK, last post in this thread., but I see I forgot 50,000 in fund raising from January last year. Add to above.

    2007 – Clay Aiken

    January
There was the Six Degrees fund raising from January through March (there has been a lot of fund raising this year!) (Oops, raised about $43,000 and received a $10,000 grant.)
Then at the end of January there were questions to ask Clay at Yahoo, when he was the celebrity UNICEF ambassador of the day.
A thousand Days was released as the second single from ATDW.

    February
We had the Kimmel apperance and the Valentine song, then later in the month Clay got a mention in the “Idols Gone Wild” mock video by Kimmel with a photoshopped naked Clay at the end.
Clay also made a surprise appearance at the Steven Curtis Chapman concert and someone got video.
Clay Co-hosted on the Mike and Juliet show.

    March
the Summer tour was announced officially called Between a Rock and a Hard Place tour
the BAF Gala where we got more underground clack including a duet between Clay and Quiana singing “the Prayer”

    April
ticketmaster tango for the summer tour!
Clay was in Afghanistan then came back for some interviews focusing on the trip and fundraising commenced for 10 days!
Clay appeared on the Leonard Lopate radio show (one of my personal favorites) to discuss UNICEF.
The surprise of hearing after the fact about Clay Aiken getting the Children Advocacy Award – we only got a photo afterwards

    May
    more ticketmaster
Clay giving an interview about Afghanistan on Kimmel while sitting on a horse talking about killing Osama Bin Laden and selling lots of albums because, of course, they are connected – what a treat!
We also learned that he appeared representing the state of California with the governator in Canada and attended a David Foster fund raising party. It makes you wonder how much stuff does he do that we never hear about.
Finally, there he was selling Guiarmo’s mustache on Dancing with the stars for a Jimmy Kimmel skit
    .
June was quiet, just some more ticket sales.

July shot off with a bang of concerts and fireworks all in one.
And footgate and intense media coverage that never seems to cover UNICEF or anything really interesting.

    August
the end of the summer concerts
started off the ticket sales for Christmas in The Heartland tour!

    September
AI rewind and the surprise joy of Clay narrating each show and new/old Clay footage from Hollywood.
the filming of Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader and behind the scenes stories

    October
some photo ops with Clay at Jenna Bush’s UNICEF party
singing for Sedaka salute and charity fund raiser
he was the featured celebrity on the Weekly reader
then there was the surprise appearance speaking to teachers about inclusion at a teacher’s convention, we didn’t getclack, but we got a description of what he was wearing and what he said from a fan who was representing her school

    November
AYSTAFG on TV and a full hour of Clay
filming of the Holiday one Skate show in LA and behindthe scene clack!
the start of the winter concerts.
The limited edition EP All Is Well is now available on Itunes.

    December
    the ending of the concerts
Wrapping for Inclusion at your local malls
the Capital on Holiday on Ice on TV
The back stage video of the skating show posted on the skating board.
Clay off to Mexico for UNICEF again this year and more fund raising.

Duh, I do understand math, change that from only 3/4 of a million to over 1 million for charity.
    300,000
    175,000
    300,000
    110,000
    100,000
    ———-
    985,000
+ assorted smaller amounts for about 20,000

Well, we have to bring you up to date on Clay, Clay fans and fund raising here.
In the spring Clay had a gala for BAF, he got a little carried away and joined the auction doing things like auctioning the jewelry off his hands and hugging a shirt that was up for auction and doubling the number of tickets and meet and greets for the ice show and this auction raised 300K for the Bubel-Aiken Foundation for inclusion.
Following Clay went off and took a one week visit to Afghanistan representing UNICEF. One school he visited had a bomb incident where 5 children died 3 days after he was there. On arriving home, he had a fundraiser for UNICEF which raised $175,000 in 10 days.
In the summer there were some auctions forthe concert meet and greets to benefit BAF by thousands of dollars.
In the fall, Clay appeared on Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader, earning the most money of all celebrities – $300,000 for the BAF.
For his birthday, the Clayboard raised over $10,000 for a summer camp and several thousand of books were donated to a library in the town ewhere he played a concert to honor Clay’s birthday.
He also participated in the Neil Sedaka salute where the show was a sell out and I can testify that the balconies were filled with Clay fans, this show donated all the profits tothe Elton John Aides fund.
Then there was this fund rasing effort for Clay’s Trip to Mexico where $110,000 was raised in 10 days and the money is still coming in.
Fans and other volunteers were raising probably (latest figures are not yet in) over $100,000 for the BAF through wrapping for inclusion by donating their time in the very busy Christmas time to stand in stores and malls and wrap, wrap, wrap for donations.

So this means thatr Clay Aiken , his fans and foundation supporters raised about 3/4 of a million dollars this year for charities.

I will come back with a summary of his year so that you might better understand the pictures in the year in review.

    Is this too much enthusiasm?
