Fellow b5 site, Snarky Gossip, has some scoop on Clay Aiken being selected by President George W Bush to participate in the Presidential Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities.
Wendy questions Clay’s ability to fulfill the role with any real talent, knowledge or school saying that he “once worked as a YMCA counselor.” I was thinking he served in a little bit more of a prominent role than that in his past.
Can someone confirm this for me?

Clay also has a degree from University of North Carolina at Charlotte in Special Education, taught class for at least a year of all autistic children, spent several years working with Michael Buble (a 14 year old autistic child), and formed the Buble/Aiken Foundation in June of 2003. The foundation works for the inclusion of children with disabilities into activities of non-disabled. Clay has opened several camps around the country for this purpose and plans up to 100 camps for the summer of ’08. Additionally, he is providing the curriculum to facilitate the inclusion of all children grades K thru 12 at the request of the US government. The President believes him to be quite special, and many of us agree.
