Close encounters of the Brad Pitt kind

Brad Pitt as Benjamin Button

I tend to float all over the Internet in the morning while I try to wake up with a cup of crack, I mean coffee, and today I happened across a really cute personal story. A blogger was in New Orleans last year right around the time that Brad Pitt was filming The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, eating in a restaurant that ended up being used for the movie.

Go and read her story about how she almost ended up sitting five feet away from Brad Pitt.

What would you do if you got to be that close to Brad or Angelina? Would you be calm and collected or do you think you’d turn into an incoherent fan shrieking about autographs? I’d like to think that I’d be mostly calm on the outside but I know myself well enough that I’m aware of my tendency to use inappropriate humor when I’m nervous so I’d probably suffer from a bit of foot-in-mouth disease.

Honestly I Would Probably Start Screaming How Amazing I Thought They Were!!! Theres No Way I Could Be Calm And Collected :)

What a cute story. At first I thought I was reading one of Melodie’s dreams. If I was to run into Brad or Angie, I would not want them to notice that I was looking at them, so I would be looking out of the corner of my eyes. I would hope that I would stay cool and calm but can’t be sure about that.

I think I would be pretty low key. I think they would appreciate that more.

I have meet a few movie stars when I lived in Vancouver. Once you actually meet them they really are just like everyone else except they buy the drinks and don’t complain. I like Brad and AJ but it really wouldn’t be a big deal meeting them.

That’s my dream, if it happens, I will probably act normal. But inside I will be happy & excited. If I could, I will ask for a picture with them. LOL. I can’t pass the opportunity. I really like them as a couple & admire them both.

    Hmmm!

I would like to think I could calm and level headed. I may try to get a picture with them especially if they are not with the kids.

At the Edinburgh FF my friend and I saw David Soul in the street and I was fairly calm about it, seeing that I used to have acrush on him in Starsky & Hutch! The crush lasted 4 years and went away with the series.

So I hope I can be like that with Brad (crush has lasted 12years +)…so here’s hoping for dignity. :)

What a story! Cute, cute story – great humor, great writing, very descriptive. Once I had a similar scenario about Hayden Christensen (I’m a huge Star Wars fan so I loved him as Anakin & in Life As A House).

I’d hope I’d be composed if I met either of them, but I might be totally struck dumb.

It was a great article and Pittwatch was mentioned (he-he). I will probably freeze and show too much excitement or nervousness. I wouldn’t know what to say. And it was mentioned that he looked taller. Of course, since he is taller than Tom Cruise. I think a lot of people think that Brad is shorter in person.

  9. kim says:

Don’t take this the wrong way but Brad is not tall. He is the same height as my husband, and I am an inch taller then AJ. And that is not tall for a man 6′ or taller is tall.

That was a cute and funny story!! When in doubt, definitely stay put…I always pictured myself being such a dork if I ever ran into a celebrity…stuttering and generally behaving as the fool…I remember the 1st time I went to NYC…I was convinced I would see at least 1 celebrity during my stay…never happened! In fact, my mom flew up with me and while I was getting some good pics of the Trinity Church, she was able to spot Katie Couric while waiting on a bench…still makes me smile that the only celeb we (or I should say she) got to see was Katie Couric…

But I am returning to the city in about 3 weeks…maybe I’ll get a second opportunity to see someone remotely well known ;) Too bad the Jolie-Pitt’s aren’t in the city…then I’d be scouting out the kiddie spots- haha…wish me luck spotting one (it’s beginning to sound like hunting- hehe)…

I’ve met a few celebrities before, and I was fine with them. I met Corey Haim when I worked at a recording studio and I had a massive crush on him as a teen so meeting him a decade later was wild, but he was just a really nice guy so I didn’t act like a loon in front of him. I also met (for those of you who are Canadian) the guy who played Joey Jeremiah on Degrassi and that was really exciting, but again I was calm and composed.

But meeting Brad and Angelina would be a whole other world. I think I would probably be okay while talking to them but later one I would completely freak out, realizing that “oh my god, that was Brad and Angelina!!!”

    :)

I’m pretty sure wetting my pants would fall in there somewhere!

  13. BlessBrangelina says:

Brad is 5ft 11″ as of 1988′ish time. That’s more 6ft then 5ft in my opinion.

    Angie is 5ft 7″

  14. kim says:

I still don’t consider 5′11″ (I thought it was 5′10″) very tall for a man. But you see this is were culture comes into these conversations. Some cultures would consider this tall, I don’t.

  15. ligaya says:

Kim, so what culture are you from? I asked what country you were from after you said “git” in one of your posts. I know that word from my readings but couldn’t remember if it was from Canada, UK, New Zealand, Australia, or somewhere else.

Actually here’s that post from before:

“git” – does this mean you’re from the UK, Canada, Australia or New Zealand, Kim?

I’m so thrilled PW has posters from all over the globe (just off the top of my head): Philippines, Malaysia, Hong Kong, China (?), New Zealand, Australia, Austria, Germany, Czech Republic, France, Netherlands, Italy (?), Spain (?), UK, US, Canada, Brazil (?), Mexico – what else?
