Here’s a bit of bad news for folks looking forward to seeing Brad Pitt in another movie; Columbia Pictures has dropped Moneyball for the time being. You can rest assured that it has nothing to do with Brad.

Columbia Pictures rep Amy Pascal has stated that they’re dropping the film because the final draft of the movie script had changed so drastically that she was no longer comfortable standing behind it – it’s radically different from the original script that she had agreed to.
What does all of this mean? Well, the first option is to see if another studio will pick the film up. If that doesn’t happen today they can either replace director Steven Soderbergh, delay the film until a new script is drafted that pleases everyone, or they can just scrap the movie altogether. In the meantime, if throwing the movie in the proverbial garbage isn’t an option for them, they have to hold out hope that Brad Pitt won’t walk away himself.
Moneyball was set to start shooting tomorrow. Sounds like Brad will be at home tomorrow instead. It must be such a let-down for him when he was all geared up to get started, but that’s how it goes sometimes with red tape.

i’m a bit sad about this and a little happy too! sad because we are expecting it to start filming since June 11, and now we will have to wait a little more. that means no pics of Brad shooting too!
happy because Brad can have a long vacation with Angie and the kids! yehey! a family bonding will be great since Angie has filmed SALT for 3 months long.. now all the Jolie-Pitt’s are at home and enjoying their happy private time together. :D

Thanks to your tech team Sherry for fixing the problem! I missed reading the comments from the wonderful Pittwatchers!
I’m hope the people involved in the film don’t get too disappointed. Let’s hope it gets made eventually. As for the J-P’s, maybe it is a blessing in disguise for them. They can have a longer vacation, hopefully in Miraval.
Thank you Fa and Neer for the links to those wonderful articles! I love reading all of them!

Brad gets 15 million dollars even if the movie is never made. You can take a very nice vacation with the family and donate to your favorite charities with that. It’s mind boggling that this was a last minute decision and that Sony pulled out knowing they still have to pay Brad. Even more interesting is that Pascal was integral in getting Angelina to be in Salt. Thanks for the dark horizons article Fa. I mostly feel sorry for the crew and all the other employees who were probably counting on the money they would make working on this movie. Brad will certainly just move on.

I was disappointed when I read that Moneyball won´t be made but after a while I found something positive about it too. Now Brad, Angie and the kids can have a much deserved family vacation either in New Orleans or France. It´s exactly what they need right now. Angie has been working all spring and deserves some quality time with her loved-ones. I really miss the whole clan but especially the twins. Hopefully Brad and Angie will publish a family photo to celebrate Knox and Viv´s first birthday on July 12 and in that way they would also silence the rumors about their alleged health problems. Knox and Viv are certainly very healthy babies and growing normally. God bless the JPs!
