Conspiracy Theory: Charlie Sheen Is Paying Denise Richards Not to Trash Him In Her Memoir

Denise Richards has signed a deal to write her memoir. Although the book won’t be out until summer of 2012, Denise is already talking about some of the contents. After all, since her reality show got cancelled, she needs something to do. And evidently that something is saying nice things about ex-husband Charlie Sheen in the media.

I know that Denise and Charlie have two young daughters together, and I always admire divorced parents who are able to be civil and co-parent without turning their kids against each other. That said, I just can’t believe that Denise has nothing negative to say about him. Denise left Charlie and filed for a restraining order while she was pregnant, so it’s hard for me to imagine what would drive a heavily pregnant woman to make such a firm decision. If Denise wants to avoid saying mean things about Charlie in the press, I think that’s her right. But if she expects people to give a shit about her memoir, she needs to have something juicy in it. And because of everything Charlie is up to these days, people will be expecting her to spill some good stories about Charlie and their time together. But the “beautiful love story” she’s pushing in her interviews? Yeah, I’m not buying it.

If the four entire painful episodes of Denise Richards: It’s Complicated (or, as The Soup called it, Denise Richards Colon It’s Complicated) taught me anything, it’s that Denise’s #1 source of income is alimony and child support from Charlie. She’s working sporadically, and she seems to have tons of time for Hawaiian vacations. While it’s in her kids’ best interest that Mommy not criticize Daddy in public, it’s also in Denise’s best financial interest not to talk shit about Charlie in the media lest the gravy train stop running. Whenever he does something stupid, Denise is the first person to run onto Oprah or Entertainment Tonight and insist that Charlie isn’t that bad of a guy or that he’s doing cocaine, not crack. I wouldn’t be surprised if she was also collecting some sort of fee in exchange for helping him rehabilitate his image. Frankly, I think rehab would be cheaper.
