While he was alive, Corey Haim had a tumultuous relationship with his 80′s heartthrob co-star Corey Feldman. But since Haim’s death, Feldman has called Haim his “brother” and made appearances to talk about his friend’s life. However, it looks like Feldman won’t be at Haim’s funeral tomorrow in Toronto.
Early this morning Feldman put out a statement revealing that Haim’s family is planning to make the funeral “a small private affair.” Feldman has decided not attend — “understanding the recent media attention and to be respectful of the family’s wishes.”
“Instead I will remain in Los Angeles quietly mourning and planning his memorial. As a sign of respect I am asking the media to honor Corey Haim by making the same choice,” he added.
Feldman said he is “working with a few people who were close to Corey to put a memorial together within the next month,” which will presumably allow his Hollywood friends to mourn their loss.
Do you think Feldman has made the right choice? Or is he just seeking more media attention by publicly announcing he won’t be there?
