Corinne Bailey Rae Releasing Album After Tragedy

It seemed like the career of Corinne Bailey Rae was just about to take off when tragedy struck – the singer-songwriter’s husband was found dead in early 2008 and her life came to a standstill.

She had already begun working on her second album (her song “Put Your Records On” had definitely caused many to wonder what she would do on her follow-up album) but she put it on hold after her loss. 

Now, Virgin Records has announced the release of The Sea, which contain songs that she was already working on along with music inspired by her heart-wrenching journey.  I felt as though her previous work was already infused with so much emotion so I can only imagine how strongly this could move her fans.

I don’t know the exact release date of The Sea but I’m definitely looking forward to it.
