According to The Hollywood Reporter, TNT is at least considering moving NBC’s newly cancelled show Southland to its network.
That would make so many fans happy, including me! Plus, it would be like a happy ending that we rarely get to see in this cut-throat world of ratings and cancellations. Fans start following a show and then have the rug pulled out from them a few episodes later.
TNT shares a corporate parent with Warner Bros. TV, which produces the series with John Wells Productions. Sources said talks between the two sides are advancing.
"We continually look at all programming opportunities that fit our portfolio of brands," TNT said in a statement.
Southland, which stars Benjamin McKenzie, Regina King and Michael Cudlitz among its ensemble cast, shot six episodes of its second season before it was cancelled by NBC – just two weeks before the second season was to premiere.
What would make the situation even sweeter is by being on cable, the show can be as edgy as it wants, which would be perfect for Southland.
Oh, please, let this happen.
