Now that it’s Monday, we have less than one week until the Oscars ceremony! While that means lots of hope that Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie will win (or both of them!), it also means something else important – it means Brad & Angelina on the red carpet!
I know that some of you have been annoyed enough by the other awards this season, with neither Brad Pitt nor The Curious Case of Benjamin Button winning any major awards (BB has won some technical awards) that you’ve said you refuse to watch the Oscars. I can’t help it, I have to watch. I almost never miss the Oscars, I love them and even though I am often cursing them because they always run so late when I need to get up early the next morning, I stay up to see the whole thing. It’s a compulsion.
So what about you? Here’s a little poll for this Monday, something easy since it’s a holiday for the U.S. (President’s Day) and much of Canada (Family Day – alas, my province doesn’t observe the day). If you’re reading this post in a feed reader, please click through to vote in the poll.
Let me know if the comments why you voted the way you did. In the meantime, what do you suppose Brad and Angelina will wear on the red carpet? I’m positive we can expect Brad in a Tom Ford tux again (perhaps with a scarf again). Meanwhile, I’m hoping for a super-glamorous Old Hollywood gown for Angie, maybe in a dark jewel tone, like a forest green or a deep garnet red.
And speaking of red carpets, here’s just one more photo from the BAFTA awards – does she have a good, firm grip or what?
Woohoo!

I will watch, but I don’t think they will win. I saw Milk this weekend. It was really good. I haven’t seen SDM, which I think will win because it seems to have won everything. I liked CCBB a lot. But I think it was poorly edited, and too long. Almost tedius at times. I think it is too whimsical for the Oscars, too. That isn’t to say that I didn’t think he was fantastic in it. I don’t know what the award shows fascination with the Wrestler is. I guess they like gritty.

i won’t watch the award show but i’ll do watch the RC. i’m sure someone will post a video if they’d win. :)
i have this feeling that SM will swipe all the awards again, but i do hope that CCBB will also do well in the Oscars -just like Forrest Gump did. it will never hurt to cross our fingers right? hehe

Morning! I took notice of the Jolie-Pitts because of the wonderful family they are creating. I am not a huge film or fashion buff. It is lovely to see them out together because they always look like they are on a fun date… and that seems to be part of their magic.

I´m most definitely gonna watch Oscars this year too. I always do. Thank God they send it live here in Finland too. The only bad thing is that I´ll have to stay awake all night but especially this year it´ll be worth it! I want to see what Angie is wearing and their PDA is always legendary! I´ve been disappointed that so far they´ve come empty-handed from GGs, SAGs and BAFTAs but I have a feeling that hopefully at least one of them finally wins this time. They both would win. But my bet is that hopefully Brad wins. Angie already has won once. TCCOBB finally opens here in Finland this week and I´m most definitely gonna watch it right away! It seems like a very interesting movie! Can´t wait to see Brad and Angie on the RC on Sunday! God bless them and their beautiful family!

Probably will not tune in until after 9pm. My husband can’t stand watching those types of shows. I would love to pray for a miracle but I don’t think either will win. If I don’t watch I know I can always depend on Pittwatch to show us what we missed.

Sherry, there’s a very short cllip of Brad and Angie having a date night on tmz. i hate the camera guy’s question though – he asked them if they are having competetion with octuplets mom. good thing Brad was just cool and answered ‘yeah, we sure are’ or something like that.
here’s the link:

I will also not be watching until my husband goes to bed. I really don’t expect either to win. They have been passed over two many times. I am interested in what they will wear. I hope Angie breaks out in something edgy!

Sherry I will watch some of Oscars. I am biased towards Brad/Angie.. but I do think I can be logical. I did see SM.. and thought it was a very good film.. But not the best of the year. I also saw Milk, Wrestler, RR, and Doubt.. and of course BB.. but I have to say the two that I think should be considered Best Film are TCCoBB and Milk.. they were the best for me.. I hate that the Oscars come last. It has made this show so less important. I don’t like when one film dominates. How are the actors in SM not considered yet their film is being awarded the best.. makes no sense to me.. One would think that the best film should have the best performances.. I have been disappointed in the previous award shows. I don’t expect Brad/Angie to win.. I don’t think they do either.. I want David Fincher to win for Best Director.. 5 years and in effect he made 2 films in one.. He has changed film making and that will in effect benefit the films that will come after.. Ground breaking.. Taraji is another that I hope wins, and BB for Best Film.. If these things happen I will be a happy camper.. I will mostly watch to see Brad/Angie on the Red carpet. But the Oscars are trying to change so much it will be hard to know what kind of carpet we will see. They know that most viewer watch for the carpet fashion and interviews. The show becomes secondary. So we will wait and see. But thanks Sherry for all your hard work on this site.

I am predicting a break from the recent trend and say that Milk will throw a big wrench into the Slumdog celebrations. Unfortunately Angie and Brad will be shut out and BB will have to settle for a ’sister’s kiss’. Still, looking forward to seeing them on RC.

As I wrote once before Oscar is political. TCCOBB will win in techincal categories but not in major. Better luck next time Brad and Angie. But I will be watching to see them there. I think the JPs have a little contest. If their names aren’t call for the award they kiss and coo the night away. That is pretty sweet. I like.

I’ll watch only the repeat telecast because here in Singapore the live telecast will be on 23 Feb.
But I will be checking the internet from my office for RC pics of them.
All the best to Brad & Angie though the chances of winning are very slim but I believe they’ll enjoy themselves.

I hope both Angie and Brad win. Have been very disappointed that neither of them have won so far.
Love and Best of Luck to both of them and their beautiful family.

win or lose, I would still suport them. Yup, the Oscars is a bit political. What I love with Brad and Angie the most is that they make their red carpet events a date night, a special creative time for themselves. I bet they look forward to it as much as we would.
