According to Virgin Media, Simon Cowell, judge on the hit TV show, “American Idol” is upset that a song meant for Leona Lewis, was given to Beyoncé Knowles instead.
The song, “Halo“, was written by Ryan Tedder, who is the same writer who presented Leona, with her number one hit single “Bleeding Love.” Supposedly, Ryan had given Leona the chance to record “Halo”, but she couldn’t find enough time to work on the single, so he went and gave the song to Beyoncé.
I’m not quite sure if that’s the ethical thing to do. I mean, if you offer a song to someone and then decide to take it away from them wouldn’t it be kinder to at least let them know that you’ve cancled the offer? Give them some warning at least. And if I were Beyoncé I certainly wouldn’t feel comfortable recording the song after that, but I guess that’s how the music industry is.
