So what happens to you after your single becomes the world’s biggest viral joke? If you’re Rebecca Black, you apparently become too famous for your high school. Benni Cinkle, who became a meme when she was “the girl in the pink dress” in her friend Rebecca’s “Friday” video, was interviewed by BlackBook about her newfound internet stardom. Among the revelations? Rebecca and Benni aren’t BFF anymore. Once again, fame tears people apart! “We don’t talk as much anymore,” Benni said. “Especially now because she dropped out of our school and she’s getting homeschooled. So I don’t really talk to her anymore.” But considering that Benni has a Facebook page, a Twitter account, and a Tumblr blog, there are plenty of ways for her to stay in touch with people, and the news that she and Rebecca don’t really talk anymore is pretty damning.

One possible reason for their friend breakup? Although Benni appeared in “Friday” to support Rebecca, it turns out that she also dreams of being a famous singer. “It’s always been a dream of mine ever since I was a little girl that I wanted to be famous, that I wanted to be a singer. But I never really thought I would pursue that. Other than that I wanted to be a lawyer or psychiatrist. But now that this kinda hit, I’m taking on that dream that’s been in the back of my mind. I’m seeing where it will go.” She’s working on a single, but stresses that she won’t be working with Ark Music Factory, the company behind “Friday” (and lots of other laughably bad songs). While she doesn’t divulge the name of the song or when it’s coming out, I’d bet good money that Rebecca Black won’t be making a cameo.
