Daddy's Girls Ep 1: 'New Beginnings'

Tonight after new episodes of Bromance and The City, MTV debuted Daddy’s Girls.  The first episode which is appropriately ”New Beginnings” basically shows Angela and Vanessa Simmons getting settled into their new apartment and introduces their cousin Jessica and neighbor/friend Alycia.  

Angela is still stuck on a recent break-up with her boyfriend and so the girls try to help her get her mind off of him by setting her up on a blind date.  In between all the action, Angela and Vanessa field a ton of phone calls from their concerned dad, Rev Run.  The episode ends with the Simmon’s sisters writing an email to dear old dad filling him in on their life and promising that they’ll always be… Daddy’s Girls.  I’m predicting that every episode will end like this.  It’s sort of a remixed version of the Words of Wisdom that Rev Run types up in the bathtub at the end of every Run’s House episode.

Here are a few things I learned from the show:

1.  Angela is saving herself for marriage.  During the ep. she blames the downfall of her relationship on her boyfriend’s inability to wait. 

2.  The exterior of Angela and Vanessa’s new apartment looks strikingly similar to the apt that Heidi and LC first lived in on The Hills.  I’m just sayin’.
