Danny Gokey chose to sing “You Are So Beautiful” which was originally made famous by Joe Cocker. After losing his wife, I can’t believe that he can sing these super emotional songs. I thought his voice sounding so amazing and I loved the arrangement. I think that was my favorite performance by Danny this season.
Randy said that he loved that Danny showed that he’s in the competition because he can really, really, really sing. Kara said that it was stunning and amazing. Paula said that they were left breathless by the performance and that by changing the song’s structure he made it beautiful. Simon said that it was a vocal master class. Wow!

Initially I thought that chosing “You Are So Beautiful” could be a set-back since it’s not a contemporary song; and maybe America doesn’t want to hear any “boring old fashion songs..” Boy was I wrong!! Danny put a fresh new spin on the song starting off slow and mellow and then arranging those awesome riffs into the song to really make it his own. Now although Danny has got my vote I’m not really “anti”-anyone, because I think that Chris and Adam also did great. And to all you Danny haters; at least Danny can laugh off his “Dream On” scream and make fun of himself rather then sulk about it. I don’t know how people get the impression that he wants pity votes- he only mentioned his deceased wife in the beginning of the show like who wouldn’t?! It’s not like he told America every week “this song is for my dead wife so vote for me”. Come on people get real so what if he can’t dance he is amazing vocally and has a wholsome and funny personality. Go Danny you should be Americal Idol Season 8!!
his second performance was good but the first one was better.
Danny you were amazing i cant wait to buy his album everyone keep voting for the full 2 hours so that he stays in the competition and doesnt go out of it. why is everyone so against danny just because he isn’t a good dancer he can well and truly sing. he can sing better than everyone in this competition and i hope he wins.
I’ve been watching this young man perform ever since season 8 started and all I can say is that he is (Danny) the competition and it’s not right for him not to be in the final 2 with Adam. They could all sing but only Danny and Adam has the ability to sing amazingly so well no offense to Kris.
