With over $510 million earned domestically,, he biggest summer movie “Dark Knight” might just turn into the biggest movie draw EVER. It’s only $80 million short of the Titanic. That gap might be gone by the end of this year, when Warner Bros. re-releases the “Dark Knight” in theaters.
The Hollywood Reporter just learned that Warner domestic president Dan Fellman is talking with IMAX executives about distributing “Dark Knight” to select IMAX venues in January.
Two weekends ago, I was surprised to see the “Dark Knight” being shown at the IMAX of the Museum of Natural History in Washington DC. Unfortunately for me, I had my two young children with me and sitting for three hours would not make them happy. *sigh* Come January, just in time for the Academy Awards voting season, I hope to watch the film on IMAX!

I think that the re-release of the movie should have Katie Holmes replacing Maggie Gyllenhaal, if possible. (nothing personal Maggie) In my opinion that is the only flaw in the movie (a big one in my eyes). It looses that realism and its hard to believe. Im not her biggest fan nor do I think shes the greatest actress, but movie sequels need the original cast. Plus the death scene would of been more shocking. If they make a 3rd installment it could of gone down as the best trilogy of all time, next to star wars, but that replacment kills it, what if star wars replaced princess Lea in The Empire Strikes Back? or Rocky fought a different Apollo in Rocky II? It would have been weird huh? Thats why I think it should be done.
The reason they replaced Katie Holmes because she did an absolutely horrible job as she often does. She’s very unconvincing and boring to watch. Maggie really brought out Rachel’s character, and made it much more believable.
