David Archuleta updated his official blog to say that he’s not feeling very well and settled in to watch the Michael Jackson memorial.
The American Idol runner up writes, “So I was planning on doing a video blog for this week, but I haven’t been feeling too well at all for the last couple of days … I’m already feeling a whole lot better than yesterday though! We had our drive from Oklahoma to Arizona that day. I spent 24 hours on our bus, because even though we finally got to the hotel I was feeling too sick to move lol. But things are well! I’ve been sleeping, resting, sleeping and resting like crazy. Thanks for all of your concerns and thoughts! I’ve really appreciated it. I’m hoping to be in good shape for all of you coming to the Arizona show tomorrow!”
And while he was sick, David tuned in to watch the Michael Jackson memorial. “I was really touched by all the performances and the things that were said by his friends that spoke. It was a really emotional memorial. It really got me when his daughter spoke at the end, and my thoughts and prayers go out to them! I hope we can all keep them in our prayers, and give them the space and respect they deserve and need right now. Their dad went through a lot, but he did his best to keep his kids away from all that craziness because he cared about them and knew what it did to people. But despite all the things that Michael dealt with and everyone looking down on him, now that he’s gone it’s amazing to see how everyone has remembered all the things he’s done in his life that have influenced so many people. The way he’s reached out to sooo many that were in need and in poverty, and then in the way he touched people with his music. All I can say is thanks to him, not only for how inspiring he was to me basically throughout my entire life lol, but for his contributions to music and to the world.”

david is mature and wise beyond his years… what a wonderful sentiment displayed to michael jackson and his family from this very talented and gifted young man. david has always cited jackson as one of his influences musically, and it’s good to see the younger generation of pop stars paying homage to the king of pop. hope he’s feeling better, and hope he continues to rise and have a long successful career.

I am captivated by David Archuleta’s voice and Spirit. He’s unique in every way. No one has ever ‘gotten’ to me the way David does – not even Michael Jackson. Michael Jackson was, and David Archuleta is, a one-of-a-kind performer that wants to make a contribution to the world.

And David thinks he isn’t good with words? So much class for such a young age. I’m so happy he’s feeling better also. Checked out some videos of his performances from the AZ show on youtube and he was outstanding as usual.

I’m so impressed with David Archuleta’s wisdom and maturity, not only is he a talented singer and performer, but knows what it is to respect and give praise to the talent of others. He didn’t jump on the bandwagon with Michael Jackson’s death, he had given credit to him for his musical genius and influence on him long before.
My Michael rest in peace and David carry on….

David Archuleta is a very talented artist and an amazing, generous human being. He is already changing the world, making it a better place. David truly is a class act. He admires and respect Michael Jackson; he wrote appropriate and eloquent words about the King of Pop; R.I.P. Michael. God bless David Archuleta!

This 18 year old is more profound than people 3 times his age. How did he get to be so wise? David is one of these talented performers that understands the trials and tribulations of being a performer, and that after all the craziness, MJ’s contribution cannot be denied. Well said David.

David is, at times, mature beyond his years. He put Michael’s death in perspective from the very beginning. I am more impressed with him each day. And don’t get me started on that voice!! I could go on for days!!

Michael Jackson was an inspiration to the world and so is David Archuleta!! Both singing at an early age, both spiritual, both loving, both caring for the World and humanity. Always supporting many, many charities and both LOVING music — their escape from everything!!

I am a follower of David because nobody has touched me the way he has. He may be young and unaffected, but his pure soul and attitudes toward others regardless of any barriers that separate people always surprise me. One example of showing his character happened when he visited Malaysia. A cleaning lady encountered him in a high school bathroom when nobody was around. David reached out his hand for a handshake and asked her name. Then he thanked her to keep the school clean for students. It doesn’t matter if it’s the president of the United States or an unknown cleaning lady. He treats others with respect but doesn’t expect return. Nobody knew this story until the lady told the school staff. I can tell what he said about Michael Jackson came from his heart. What a loss!! We are gonna miss MJ.

David Archuleta is one of a kind ! He touches every soul here on earth with the kind of person he is. With David Archuleta personality and music , a parental control for kids are not absolutely needed instead, we introduce him to our kids to be their role model. David’s music should live forever !
