The U.S. Open is about to wrap up and, since I write about tennis, I was super surprised and excited to see David Archuleta performing “America the Beautiful” before the women’s final match between Caroline Wozniacki and Kim Clijsters (Clisjters ended up winning).
Archie sounded a little nervous at first but he quickly turned on the magic and his gorgeous voice shone through. The crowd cheered when he was joined by the United States Marine Corps 6th Communications Battalion. It was understated and touching so I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
I loved it! He is such an inspiring singer! What talent to be able to sing soul, R&B, pop, chrisian and now patriotic! Not too many artists have the gift!
David Archuleta was stunning looking and gave a stunning performance last night.

David Archuleta has been very busy recording a Christmas album, “Christmas From The Heart” & it is due to be released on October 13th. Christmas in October! I can’t imagine a better singer that could record a Christmas album to get me in the holiday spirit!
David’s performance of America the Beautiful was awe-inspiring. His maturity and poise continues to rapidly grow, and I can’t imagine how mind blowing he will be in just a few years. David thank you again for making your fans truly happy; God Bless.
David was so awesome last night! I’ve never heard America The Beautiful sung like that before. He is brilliant, gorgeous, hot, adorable -OMG I love him!

I don’t care how many times I watch this performance, I am still moved to tears…so proud of David and all that he has accomplished at such a young age…he continues to blow me away with every performance I watch. I was privileged to meet him this summer and can vouch for the fact…”what you see is what you get”..this is the quality that sets him apart and keeps him “real”. Way to go David…SHINE ON!
I watched David last night sing America The Beautiful and I have never heard anyone sing with such passion as he did. This is why we, his fans love him so much. This absolutely brougnt tears to my eyes and by heart was so proud of David and to be an American.
David gave a very moving rendition of ATB, simply beautiful.
He is so unbelievably talented… it was like hearing this beautiful song for the first time.

I love the fact that David DID show some vulnerability and possibly humility as he started into this beautiful American anthem. But, woa, as he got into this song, he became this powerhouse! Loved it! He always sings with emotion IMO! And that is one thing I really enjoy about listening to him when he sings these anthem pro-American songs. I’m kinda a big fan of David’s as you can see. So, I love to hear his voice anywhere, anytime!

David keeps getting better and better. He just knows how to make a song his own and his interpretation gives a calming, inspiring feeling to the listener.

I’m sure other David Archuleta fans would agree that almost every day, David makes us smile or fills us with the warmth of his own spirit in some way. Or both! I feel honored just to see and hear him. The great thing about David is that what you see here is what is at his core – love of country, family and friends, music, faith, and a love of every place and everyone. He is amazingly humble, honest, charitable and kind to all. Sometimes David misses big events like the MTV VMAs because his own celebrity and enjoyment are not anywhere near the top of his priorities. I am an adult but David Archuleta is my role model for being a better human being. Thanks for the great article and thanks to the US Open, ESPN and David Archuleta for making my week! FYI – David’s Christmas album Christmas from the Heart comes out Oct 13! I can’t wait.

I have watched David’s performance of America the Beautiful about 20 times now and each time he moves me to tears! Such a heartfelt rendition of one of our most beloved patriotic songs! I have been so fortunate to have seen David in concert many times and each time he blows me away with his beautiful, soulful voice. He has such a giving heart, supports and encourages people to support great charities such as The Invisible Children and Rising Star Outreach, and goes out of his way to meet and respond to his fans. I am so proud to be one of his fans! I’m so looking forward to having his soon to be released Christmas album “Christmas From the Heart” out on October 13. Thanks to the US Open for inviting David to sing ATB!
I love that David gets nervous too when performing. It shows he is human. But you are right, although he was tentative for the first few seconds, he kicked it up a few notches and the intensity just increased until the very end. He was amazing. So proud of this humble singer.

David Archuleta is just an amazing singer/songwriter…and I was excited to see him perform on TV again! I was lucking enough to see him perform 4 times this summer while he has been on tour. David is just so talented and my heck – what a voice! I tuned into the tennis tournament just because I knew David would be performing. I loved his rendition of America the Beautiful!

Davids rendition of American the Beautiful was the best I have ever heard. He is truly a talented singer and along with that, humble. He simply loves to sing and I feel he sings mainly because he loves to make people happy. I so look foward to his Christmas Album coming in October. We are in for a very special treat to hear “The Voice” sing the tradional Christmas songs that everyone loves so much.
