David Beckham, England Defeat Andorra 6-0

It was another easy win for David Beckham and the English national team yesterday as they easily defeated Andorra 6-0. The win gives England a 7-0 record for the World Cup qualifiers and guarantees them a position for the 2010 Cup in South Africa.

David started the game for England, making it his first start for his country in over two years. He proved to be a big asset on the field, as did Wayne Rooney and Jermain Defoe, who had two goals a piece and Frank Lampard and Peter Crouch, who each picked up a single.

With this match, David received his 113th cap for England. This puts him a mere 13 games behind all-time leader Peter Shilton. If David keeps up this level of play, I see no problem in him becoming the all-time leader in caps for his country.

Here’s a video with highlights from the game:

Now with World Cup qualifying behind him, David can focus on returning to the Los Angeles Galaxy. He’s expected to be back on the field for the MLS team on July 17th, when they take on the New York Red Bulls.
