The Los Angeles Galaxy and AC Milan have reaced a tentative deal to allow David Beckham to stay in Milan until May 31, the LA Times is reporting. At that point, he needs to wait until July 15th, the date the MLS allows mid-season transfers to join their teams. This means David will miss 17 games with the Galaxy. His first game back on US soil will be on July 18th in New York.
The agreement must be worth several million dollars, the Times speculates, although actual details are not known.
This isn’t a bad scenario for either team. The Galaxy will have the benefits of having David on their roster for most of their season and David can finish out the Serie A season with Milan. David also has a clause in his contract where he can leave the Galaxy at the end of the 2009 season, so this is more than likely the last season David will play in the US.
