TMZ just sent me an email stating that American Idol contestant, David Cook, was rushed to the hospital due to heart palpitations and high blood pressure. Producers wanted him to go to the emergency room before the show ended, but David wanted to stay until it was over. He is at the hospital now, condition unknown.
I really hope everything is alright!
*UPDATE* TMZ is now saying that David’s medical emergency may have been triggered by stress relating to his brother’s illness. His brother has cancer and suffered a setback this past week. Allegedly, David was so stressed out at one point, earlier in the season, that he said he couldn’t performed but changed his mind at the last minute. Wow…

If the allegations that he collapsed but still performed a few weeks ago are true, I am even more impressed with David than I already was. This is some really high professionalism right there.
Even last night, when I thought he looked less energetic than before, I chalked it up to the song being calmer, to the “covergate” thing that might have affected him… Never in a million years would I have suspected he was not physically feeling well.
I hope he’s feeling better. Take care of yourself David!

That was some horrible news to wake up to, so I was glad to see that reports were being made that he is fine.
And I have to add, he’s a true professional. There was absolutely no indication that he wasn’t feeling well or that anything was wrong. What a trooper!

David replied to me & my roommate via text message and said that he is fine, and that going to the hospital was just a precaution. Don’t worry! Just keep him and his family in your thoughts!
