OMG!, I am seriously getting goosebumps. After Brandon Beemer (Shawn Douglas Brady) and Martha Madison (Belle Black) had been axed from their contracts, the entire writing staff of Days Of Our Lives were sent packing last Friday, February1st. Head writer Hogan Sheffer along with his staffers Tom Casiello, Frederick Johnson, Meg Kelly, Gordon Rayfield, Judy Tate, Judith Donato, Renee Godelia, and Richard Backus have been fired.
Called in for the interim is former One Life To Live head writer Dana Higley who was part of the DOOL writing team for 19 years before going to OLTL. But was then fired by ABC last year. News is that, as soon as the writers’s strike is over, Dana will be formally named as head writer for DOOL.
WHOA! I hope Dana Higley doesn’t sink DOOL down the drain the way she did with OLTL. I hope NBC’s decision to fire the writing staff doesn’t bite them in the ass next year, heh.

Hope those in charge of employing writers will take their time an hire writer not of long standing but good writing skills. Writing that will draw viewers to the show and keep their attention.
I NEED TO SAY SOMETHING ABOUT DAYS OF OUR LIVES AND THIS IS THE ONLY WEBSITE I HAVE FOUND THAT MAYBE IT WILL GET PASSD ON, NOT THAT ANYBODY GIVES A CRAP WHAT I HAVE TO SAY! BUT IF THESE SOAP OPERA STARS WANT TO BE REAL ACTORS AND ACTRESSES THEY NEED TO LEARN TO UGLY UP ONCE IN AWHILE! LIKE KATE DYING OF CANCER AND STILL LOOKING LIKE A BEAUTY QUEEN IN HER HOSPITAL BED!!! HOW REAL IS THAT? COME ON NOW, LETS KEEP IT REAL!!
Has anyone else noticed that All of the people being let go from DOOL are older actors and actresses? Now all we will have are teeny-bopper stories. Good way to lose all of the adult viewers. Also, isn’t it time that all the story-lines being re-used are cast aside for some new ideas? Guess there just aren’t any good writers any more.
