One of my favorite “side project” bands, Department of Eagles will be going on an East Coast tour in January. Department of Eagles has members from Grizzly Bear and their music corresponds nicely to Grizzly Bear’s, but has its own unique sound. After playing their first live show ever at the Bell House in October, the group is in Europe now and will be returning to play in Chicago on January 15.

They will be at Bowery Ballroom on January 19. Tickets go on sale today (Wednesday) at noon.
