Design Star Two More Designers Go Home

hdr_dslogo.jpg

This week, the designers had to design a wedding reception for a couple who had totally opposite tastes. The bride wanted to be the princess, with lavender and white and have a very elegant reception. The groom wanted a Vegas theme, with dice, Roulette table, and using the colors red and black. (Yuck!)

Christina

Each designer created their own design and presented it to the couple. The couple chose to use Robb’s design. That meant that he had to lead the others in implementing it for the couple. The design they liked the least was Christina’s. She was eliminated right then. (At least she didn’t have to help put together that train wreck of a reception design…)

After the reception was all over, the couple was thrilled with the results. So Robb won some diamonds as his prize for the challenge. When asked which of the others was the weakest link, he tried to throw Will under the bus. Luckily for Will, the judges didn’t seem to buy it.

Sparkle Josh

However, my favorite designer this season, Sparkle Josh had his show cancelled too. How disappointing! I really liked him! But I like Will and Todd a lot too, so at least they are still there…

Last year’s winner, David Bromstad, has posted his own vlog about this episode, and you can watch it by going to this page and clicking on it about half way down. It’s great to get to hear his point of view, as someone who has been through this competition successfully before.

Who do you hope wins this season’s Design Star? Who do you hope is eliminated next? Leave a comment to let us know!

And a third should have been sent home….rules violation!

    Kim should be disqualified.(see article)

    The rules say…

In addition, any applicant closely acquainted with any person connected with the production or administration or exhibition of the Program is not eligible if, in HGTV’s sole discretion, the person’s participation could create the appearance of impropriety.

According to the rules excerpted, Kim should NOT be disqualified. I think being the hairdresser of someone NOT closely associated with the show is not a conflict of interest, and I’m willing to bet HGTV’s lawyers gave their approval.
