Diana DeGarmo has entered another singing competition. No, your eyes aren’t bleary – you read that correctly! The season 3 American Idol runner-up will be one of the seven celebs who will square off in hopes of becoming a country music star on CMT’s “Gone Country” reality show.
Let me just say that I am growing quite weary of these new shows popping up every day but I digress…
Anyway, Diana is in good company (please take that last line as loosely as possible) with fellow competitors Bobby Brown, Carnie Wilson, Maureen McCormick, and Julio Iglesias Jr.
In addition, Gone Country’s cast will also include former Twisted Sister frontman and radio personality Dee Snider as well as R&B singer Sisqo.
Gone Country will follow the seven musicians as they move to Nashville, TN for two weeks and are paired with an established country songwriter, who will prepare them for a career in the musical genre. Each episode of Gone Country will see the contestants participating in a challenge that tests them musically and also sees if they’ve been able to adapt to the country-music lifestyle.
Gone Country’s six-episode run will conclude with one of the seven contestants recording and releasing a country song. John Rich, who makes up half of the country duo Big & Rich, will serve as Gone Country’s host and will also determine which of the show’s participants will win the grand prize.
Gone Country recently began production in Nashville and is scheduled to premiere in January 2008. The series is executive produced by David Garfinkle and Jay Renfroe of Renegade 83 Productions. Marc Oswald also serves as executive producer. Melanie Moreau and Bob Kusbit serve as executive producers for CMT.
This sounds terrible. I’m so sorry if I’m offending anyone because I really don’t mean to. I just won’t be watching this but I’ll report any Diana news that I can!

Diana Degarmo Like I’m Not Even Here Lyrics:
Out of all the places
You had to walk in here
With your brand new girlfriend
Whispering in your ear
You know this was our spot
Where we laughed, where we fought
Baby, thanks a lot
[Chorus]
I’m hiding over here in the
corner of the bar
And I’m trying not to look
’cause there you are
And I’m dying
This watered down drink is my only help
Just trying to keep myself from crying
You wouldn’t even noticed if I
broke down in tears
you’re lovin’ her like I’m not even here
You never kissed me
Or looked at me that way
You said you’d miss me
Guess that’s just a line you say
It hasn’t even been five days
Since your car drove away
Guess I’ve been replaced
[Chorus]
I’m hiding over here in the
corner of the bar
And I’m trying not to look
’cause there you are
And I’m dying
This watered down drink is my only help
Just trying to keep myself from crying
You wouldn’t even noticed if I
broke down in tears
you’re lovin’ her like I’m not even here
I caught your eye
And it’s too late
you’re coming this way
you’re not turning away
What am I gonna say?
[Chorus]
you’re walking up to me in
the corner of the bar
And I scream who do you think you are?
I’ve been dying
This watered down drink was my only help
You should be ashamed of yourself
I’ve been crying
You didn’t even notice that I
broke down in tears
you’re lovin’ her like I’m not even here Yeah
you’re lovin’ her like I’m not even here
