Supposedly, Britney Spears and Avril Lavigne were spotted partying together a couple nights ago. Here’s what I read:
The pop princess arrived at Winston’s at 11:30 pm with her new friend Sara, while Lavigne was seen getting inside the club with Spears BFF Allie Sims, where they stayed for about one hour and left for Hyde nightclub.
Eye spies say that they met inside but that Britney was not in a good mood during all night, and that she even seemed down when the resident DJ played her latest hit “Gimme More.“
I have such a hard time imagining Brit and Av being friends but I guess stranger things have happened…

I agree most people (like me!) would never have guessed Avril and Britney would hang out together… especially since Avril has been quoted as being somewhat critical of Britney’s behaviour in the past.
However Avril has also been critical of Hillary Duff in the past and they hung out together a while back too, although possibly because their S.O.s are friends and also there that night.
Maybe Britney wants to be seen hanging out with someone who DOESN’T get in trouble with the law for a change. Avril stays in the news but not at the expense of breaking the law or having home-made porn released.

I know what you mean, Courtney. Hopefully, if this is true, it’s just a phase. I don’t know if I hanging around Britney Spears right now is a good idea. Not that the girl doesn’t need friends but she’s like career poison right now and Avril’s already had enough trouble with Chantal Kreviazuk…

I really can’t imagine them together. I mean, Av has trashed Britney so much. Plus, I think Av’s better than that.
