Baby, baby, baby, uh oh! (Sorry – how am I supposed to resist such an east target?) A 20-year-old California woman named Mariah Yeater has filed a lawsuit against Justin Bieber claiming he’s the father of her three-month-old son.
Mariah claims she had sex with Justin backstage at one of his shows last year. She wants the pop star to take a paternity test and provide child support if it turns out the baby is his. (In California, paternity tests are confidential. Also, nb, in California this means that Mariah, who would have been 18 to Justin’s 16 at the time they slept together, committed statutory rape.) A spokesperson for Justin has denied the allegations, saying, “While we haven’t yet seen the lawsuit, it’s sad that someone would fabricate malicious, defamatory, and demonstrably false claims.”
If the story turns out to be true, it would be something of a devastating scandal for 17-year-old Justin, whose fans are all teens and pre-teens pretty much unaware that sex is even a thing. And Justin has been very vocal about his beliefs that sex is a special, sacred thing best saved for committed and loving relationships. Yikes.
UPDATE: Mariah is also claiming she took Justin’s virginity, which I feel like actually takes credibility away from her case. Sounds kind of delusional, no?
