Jossip has an interesting post that speculates whether or not paparazzi photo company X17 Online broke the law while following Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen around Paris.
Jossip writes:
The French have much stricter privacy laws protecting non-public officials than America does, keeping even the most famous of celebrities out of public eye, since individuals must give their permission to be hounded by photogs.
It gets even more interesting than that. Read the entire article here and tell me what you think. Is France being fair? Or crazy? And did X17 break the law or is Jossip just trying to stir up controversy?

i live in europe, and most people around here don’t even imagine how gossip is such an industry in the usa.

Its really to protect the people in high places in france – i.e. the french president is a notorious womaniser and the grimaldi family (monaco royalty) deeply secretive because they all have so much to hide – children from various people without marriage etc. Generally the British and americans are written about in their mags which I’ve seen when on hols there. Just like everywhere else people who want to be written about like paris nicole etc just dont complain. Its just the top people. Not such a big a deal as X17 say just I guess unusual for them to have some contraints.
Obviously stayed over at boyfriends and borrowed clothes !

i can’t really recall anything they have to hide in the grimaldi family. all of princess stephanie’s children live with her and she takes care of them. who cares if she has them with someone famous or not?

last night at the american museum of natural history winter dance: trollsen twin trashley (try saying that 5 times fast) in the bathroom, sharing a cigarette with an unidentified french woman. wearing, obviously, about five dead animals and 6 inch heels. she’s pretty.

sephanie lived in a trailer at the circus where one of her baby daddies worked – one was her bodyguard – the stories go on and on with her – Caroline married an older playboy guy (against her familys wishes) always off with other women and had to get her marriage annuled (because catholic) so she could marry again – he then died and she married Hanover prince who is known for his very eratic behaviour. Albert some say is bi and has fathered a child (not allowed to be heir to throne) but tried to hide it and now its been found out he has another – no nothing going on in that family!
yes, i know there’s a lot going on (and you can see loads of pics of pierre and andrea – most gorgeous guy on earth, btw), but what i was saying is that they don’t ”hide” it – specially stephanie, who seems to be the most honest and doesn’t give a damn about what others may think.
