In the season premiere of DietTribe, five close friends decide to take on a 90 challenge to lose at least 30 lbs. each. The beginning motivation was the fact that one of them, Anna got engaged and they all wanted to look their best at her wedding.

Since they had enabled each other’s bad eating habits for years, it would be important to all of them to now change their eating and exercising habits together.
When they first weighed in, each of them got very emotional and they knew they had a tough three months ahead. Their trainer, Jessie Pavelka tried to motivate them to work out and took them for their baseline fitness test. Needless to say, they all were seriously out of shape.
Then, they were put on a strict food plan and fitness plan and some took to the new habits better than others.

They also started to meet as a group with a psychotherapist, Stacy Kaiser, who put them at ease by telling them how she had gone through a major weight loss herself. They knew that there had to be more to their weight issues than just eating too much and they all started to face the reasons they had put on the weight to begin with.
Jessie got a bit frustrated with some of them, but all was better when they got together for their next weigh-in. Here were their weight loss amounts so far:
Anna: Starting weight 228 –> weigh-in 219 – she lost 9 lbs.
Lydia: Starting weight 219 –> weigh-in 203 – she lost 7 lbs.
Shawna: Starting weight 232 –> weigh-in 225 – she lost 7 lbs.
Megan: Starting weight 218 –> weigh-in 213 – she lost 5 lbs.
Morgan: Starting weight 292 –> weigh-in 281 – she lost 11 lbs.
After watching this first episode in the series, I really got to like all five of the women and will be watching all season to see if they reach (or even surpass) their goals in time for Anna’s wedding.
