Before Real Housewives of New Jersey, Dina Manzo and her husband Tommy were featured on VH1′s My Big Fat Fabulous Wedding, which highlighted their over the top, $1 million wedding held at — where else — the Brownstone.
Even though this footage is a few years old, it’s always fun to delve back into. And, since Tommy is markedly absent from Housewives we can get an interesting peek into their relationship. We learn, for example, that he wasn’t that nice to her for a time — cheating on her even — and she paid him back by maxing out his credit cards. But the Brownstone co-owner has the cash to spare, and calls Dina “his best friend.” Tommy gets plenty of screen time on Wedding, and he’s not painted in a particularly flattering light, so it’s no surprise that he opted out of being included on Housewives.
As for the wedding itself, it is exorbitant and luxe in a way that only Dina could pull off — from her $10,000 Badgley Mischka gown to hundreds of thousands of dollars of flowers and 600+ guests. Our favorite part? Dina shopping for her dress at Kleinfelds with sisters Caroline and Cookie, daughter Lexi and Caroline’s daughter Lauren in tow.
