Rooftops Films is a really cool program that shows films outdoors around New York. They also have music before the movie and check out who’s playing:

June 6: Dirty on Purpose playing with “This is What We Mean by Short Films” @ Open Road Rooftop at 350 Grand St.

June 14: Silver Haunches with “Industriance: Short Films: Eminent Domain” @ Old American Can Factory 232 Third St. in Brooklyn

June 20: Deer Tick with “All is Fair”: Romantic short films @ New Design High

June 21: Sharon Van Etten and “The Woman of Brukman” @ Old American Can Factory

June 27: Bruce Levingston with “Surreal Sounds and Shorts” @ New Design High

June 28: Artankur Convoy with “Neo-Lounge” @ Old American Can Factory

July 4: “Un-American Films”: Music TBA, but there will be music, movies, beer, food, and a good view of fireworks @ Solar One on the FDR

July 11: Yerbabuena with “La Corona Y Alguna Tristeza”: short films by Latino filmmakers @ El Museo Del Barrio in Harlem

July 12: She Keeps Bees with “Knee Deep” @ Old American Can Factory

July 18: Goddamn Rattlesnake with “Rural Route Films” @ Automotive High School

July 19: Pwrfl Power with “Industriance: The Livelong Day”: Short films about work @ Old American Can Factory

July 25: Plushgun with “Animation Block Party”: animated short films @ Automotive High School

July 26: Music TBA with “In a Dream” @ Old American Can Factory

You can get tickets for all of these events on the Rooftop Films website, and some of them are cheaper if you buy them early! Also, most of the films follow up with an open bar somewhere nearby!
