I think this is a smart move. The Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus Best of Both Worlds Concert Movie was the biggest debut ever on a Super Bowl weekend. It pulled in $29 million.
Because of this huge success, Disney has decided to keep the movie at theaters until it runs its course. They had planned to only keep it there for a week and tickets were selling out like crazy.
The Hannah Montana Concert movie topped the box office this weekend, beating out all the other films:
1. Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour – $29M
2. The Eye – $13M
3. 27 Dresses – $8.4M
4. Juno – $7.45M
5. Meet the Spartans – $7.12M
So if you didn’t get tickets to see it this week, don’t fret. Just check your local theater to see if it’s showing and when.
