Disney is FULL of announcements today! First we hear that High School Musical 4 has a director, then we hear that they have ordered season four of Hannah Montana and now we know this…there will be a season 2 of “Sonny with a Chance”!
The show, which premiered in February, stars Demi Lovato, Tiffany Thornton, Sterling Knight, Brandon Mychal Smith, Doug Brochu and Allisyn Ashley Arm. It has received some great ratings and audiences definitely love the show.
Gary Marsh had this to say about this announcement: “’Sonny’ was a hit right out of the gate, thanks in no small part to the stratospheric trajectory of our newest star, Demi Lovato. She and the entire talented cast, along with our gifted writing and producing teams, have turned ‘Sonny With A Chance’ into ‘destination television’ for kids everywhere. We thrilled with the direction this first season has taken, and look forward to tapping further into its comedic potential, adding music and more, in Season Two.”
Also, the fictionalized tween magazine “Tween Weekly” seen in the series has successfully crossed over into the digital world at www.TweenWeekly.com. The site features articles, interviews and quizzes that explore pop-culture, fashion and celebrity in relation to the world of “Sonny With A Chance.” Updates coincide with each new episode premiere.

i’m very excited about a second season for “Sonny…”, less excited about a third for “Wizards…”.
“Sonny…” is going places; using their characters without burning them out or making them tiresome, making particular supporting characters important to each story and shifting them around, and the sketchs they do together on “So Random” are actually funny and are used to spring from further character development when they’re “off-screen”.
some TV writers and directors should pay a little attention to “Sonny…” as a template (of sorts), because SWaC has the perfect ensemble cast (like “Hannah Montana” does now) and it seems like everybody wants to be there, 250 percent, working together…
Michael Kostroff and Vicki Lewis seem like they really want to be there, too, although we don’t see Nancy McKeon much anymore.
people can say what they want about Demi Lovato, but she’s doing everything many triple and quadruple threat actors (act, sing, dance, play and write music) want to do, and she does it all really well and seems to be fairly well-received with her audience and the media.
with only twelve episodes done since February, i guess production is going smoothly, but i remember how slow the “Wizards…” airs were in their first season.
it’s funny (sad) with “Wizards…”; i hang tight to see if the show gets any better (and it should, with talent like DeLuise and Stone), but i can’t wait for “Sonny…” episodes to air.
CONGRATULATIONS, “Sonny…” cast and crew, on getting picked up for another season!

Heyy I am loving the show Sonny with a chance.! It is a great show for kids and teens and even some parents watcht it with there kids sometimes! It is HILARIOUS and definately beats Hannah Montana and Wizards of Waverly Place. It has so much more in it and is filled with good quality comedy! Not to mention, they picked the PERFECT characters!!! I mean no one is better than Demi Lovato and Sterling Knight along with Nico and Grady are too funny! Tawni is just typical Tawni. No one could’ve played the parts betetr then they do!
OMG! I just saw the newest episode of SWAC CAn’t wait to see what happens w/ Sonny and Chad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =D

Honestly, I don’t CARE about the sketches and the comedic situations! I just want to see Chad and Sonny together! It’s really like Pride and Prejudice, my favorite classic. I <3 you, Channy!

I love Channy and SWAC soooo much. It is my favorite tv show EVER! I can’t wait for January 10th, when Season 2 airs. It’s going to be so exciting! I read the script online and I love it so much that I just keep going back and looking at it again. Season 2 is definetly going to be very interesting. Noo idk when it comes out… i checked the schedule and it says no new episodes within the next two weeks. But they wouldnt be doing promos so early would they? DARN DISNEY! they wait so long before sonny and chad confess. and now there making us wait LONGER? Typical disney. O and btw they wouldnt cancel the episode they already filmed it and im sure the fans at the filming would be angry…
