Disney/Pixar "Cars" Short Now in Theaters

MAY 26, 2006: Concord, NC- Full size working replicas of the cars from the movie, line the red carpet during the World Premiere of the Disney/PIXAR movie CARS. The "CARS" Premiere is a sold-out event. Proceeds from the event, which is sponsored by Kodak, will benefit Speedway Children's Charities, and Association of Hole in the Wall Camps. Beginning last night, December 12th, Disney•Pixar premiered it’s very first Disney Digital 3-D™ short film, “Tokyo Mater”, directed by Academy Award®-winner John Lasseter.

The short film will appear before Disney’s BOLT, and is Disney’s fourth short in its “Car Toons” series. The series stars Mater, Lightning McQueen’s trusty and rusty old friend.

In “Tokyo Mater,” a routine tow lands Mater in Tokyo, where he is challenged to a drift-style race against a nefarious gang leader and his posse of ninjas. With the help of his friend, “Dragon” Lightning McQueen, and some special modifications, Mater attempts to drift to victory and become “Tow-ke-O Mater, King of all Drifters.”A

A 2-D version of “Tokyo Mater” will be presented also. They didn’t have BOLT in 3D at the theater I went to, which was a bummer!

I was wondering if anyone knows if these life size cars are on tour? Or where I could go to see them?
