Do I Make You Proud?

First let me say that I am extremely pleased that Taylor won this season’s American Idol. We had some friends over last night and the kids wanted to have a little dance competition. As I was trying to find some music, I was surfing around the digital music channels available on Comcast Digital. One of the songs that was playing was Taylor Hick’s “Do I Make You Proud”.

I’m really not pleased with this song. I believe both his and Katharine’s songs were not written for them individually, so to expect them to be a great song for them is wishful thinking. I just don’t like this song for Taylor. It just doesn’t fit his style. What does anyone else think?
