Does Harry Potter promote witchcraft and general evil?

Every once in a while, I get one of these videos across my desk that makes me just shake my head in wonder, and this one’s definitely a doozy.

Here’s the synopsis:

Does Witchcraft actually have power? If so what is its source? Does the Harry Potter series’ presentation of Witchcraft make it any more acceptable just because it is packaged as “children’s fantasy literature”? Hosts Robert S. McGee and Caryl Matrisciana, author and occult researcher, show Rowling’s presentation of the following elements of Witchcraft: Mother Goddess, evolution, reincarnation, communing with the dead and spirit world, seasonal nature celebrations, sorcery, divination, spells, curses, meditation, occult symbology, black magic, demon possession, dark aspects of Witchcraft, and more. Viewers will see how young readers today, more than any other time in history, have an abundance of occult resources easily available to them and learn how to answer difficult questions and clearly explain the Harry Potter series to their children, grandchildren and concerned friends.

Most would think it silly, that the TV shows, books and movies mentioned might be the impetus for people to seek out paganism and witchcraft. After all, these stories are fiction! But the truth is, lots of impressionable kids as well as adults are drawn to the fantastic worlds of Buffy, Angel, Charmed and Harry Potter. (BTVS, ATS, and HP I love, BTW) People are attracted to the non-conventional, the magical fantasy of these worlds and many choose to follow paganism and indulge in them personally. One of my best friends became a Wiccan because of BTVS (which she freely admits). Though these worlds are created for our enjoyment, some want them to be real. Anyway, just another perspective, one you may feel free to roll your eyes over.
