Earlier this week, the Today show looked at how presidents age and, in a moment of jest, Meredith Vieira told co-host, Matt Lauer, that the technologists had created an image of what he would look like when he got older. The punchline? The “aged” image wasn’t Matt, it was actor Abe Vigoda! Of course, they had a good laugh (I thought Al Roker was going to pass out from laughing so hard) but, today, Meredith said that someone had taken the segment badly and that he was on the show to talk about it.
You guessed it – Abe Vigoda, himself, walked out on the set and Matt immediately began saying “I should be so lucky” (in reference to looking like him when he got older). I could not stop giggling through this entire segment especially when he told the story about how the rumor that he was dead in the 1980s originated from a show he did in Calgary, Alberta (my current hometown!).
