Domino’s GreenGraffiti Campaign, Plus 2 $15 Gift Cards to Give Away!

Domino’s is about to start a very cool campaign with a green edge to it. Starting on Thursday, residents of New York, Philadelphia and Los Angeles will start seeing a new form of advertising. It’s called GreenGraffiti.

What is it exactly? GreenGraffiti actually started in Europe in 2006 and Domino’s is the first company to bring it to America. Not only are they doing something new and cutting edge, but there’s a very fun twist to it: a treasure hunt. 220 of these logos will be placed around New York, Los Angeles and Philadelphia. Check out a picture of the “American Legands” leaked logo. Green-Graffiti1

The first 250 people to take a picture of a logo and email it to pr@dominos.com will receive a $15 gift certificate to Domino’s. You can see all of the details of the contest here. You might be asking, “What’s the point?” Here’s what Domino’s had to say about it:

“This is different because GreenGraffiti cleans part of the sidewalk and leaves ads behind,” said Tim McIntyre, spokesperson for Domino’s Pizza. “At first glance, it appears that something’s been painted onto the sidewalks. In reality, we’re just removing dirt and leaving ads behind. Domino’s is one of the first companies to use GreenGraffiti in the U.S. and has added the unique twist of an old-fashioned scavenger hunt for our consumers to have a little fun.”

I absolutely love this concept! What do you think? In support of Domino’s campaign, I have 2 $15 Domino’s gift certificates to give away to 2 Disney Society readers. Here are the rules:

  • Leave a comment (with a valid email address) stating what you think of this campaign and you will get one entry.
  • Tweet this contest saying “RT @disneysociety Enter to win a $15 gift certificate from Domino’s, check out GreenGraffiti campaign http://tinyurl.com/lskx6u” for one entry.
  • Blog about this contest for one entry.
  • Contest starts today (July 15) and ends July 25th. I will draw two winners on July 26th.
  • Contest only open to North American residents.

Let me leave you with this video of the GreenGraffiti team putting the logo on the sidewalk.

    Neat – clean advertising.

  11. shawna

    This is a great idea!

  12. Samantha Miller

I don’t think this campaign is very special. It’s not really anything unique. 250 people isn’t a lot for the campaign either. People just assume every prize is already claimed.

  13. Dddiva

I love the concept and hope to see it locally.

  16. Jennifer gersch

    looks cleaner than grafitti

  17. Justine Pierson

I think it’s great they’re cleaning the sidewalk but isn’t it just another form of graffiti, one that’s ‘approved’ of? I don’t mind graffiti if it’s artistic :D

    Cool way to advertise.

  20. Susan Smith

    Great idea

  21. melinda smith

I think it’s a great idea.It seems to grab peoples’ attention as they walk by. As long as we can all teach our children that they themselves, can’t do that on sidewalks,or anywhere else.

  22. Cassandra

I think it’s kinda’ cool and a very different form of advertisement and could be a very “in your face” pitch, but for those hustle and bustle cities like New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and others, I’m wondering if the crowds of hurried people will just walk right over the logos or if they would even notice them. I’m also wondering how much the city gets paid for the advertising–it could be a great revenue booster for many cities.

  23. Veronica Garrett

I think it is a great way to clean up our cities.

  24. Sheila Hickmon

I think it’s a great creative way of advertising.

  25. David Richardson

Seems like a great idea. Could it be used to remove “non green” grafitti from say the sides of buildings or train cars??

  26. Aniela R.

Sounds like a fun way to advertise.

  27. kathy pease

that sounds like a really fun adventurous campaign :)

  28. Tammy

What an absolutely neat way to advertise – I know we always stop and look when we see “art” on the sidewalks!

  29. Kate

I think it’s great that they are drawing attention to parts of the sidewalk by CLEANING! Fabulous idea.

  30. Denise

This is really cool. Thank you!

  31. ElV

I read about this on another site and I think it’s such a cool idea. The only problem is that it will show how dirty our cities really are.

  32. blueviolet

It’s a fun thinking campaign! Great idea!

  33. blueviolet

    I blogged about it here

  34. theodore esteghamat
