’80s supermodel Elle McPherson and High School Musical’s Corbin Bleu will be joining Mischa Barton on The CW pilot Beautiful Life.
Mischa Barton was the first actress cast in the Ashton-Kutcher-produced show. According to Korbi TV, Bleu, cast as a Lenny Kravitz-type model (he has the look!) didn’t sign on as a series regular, but will definitely appear in the pilot. Beautiful Life focuses on the life of a group of models living together in a co-ed residence in New York.
McPherson will play Claudia, owner of Focus Models, the top modeling agency in New York, according to The Hollywood Reporter. In the show, she’s an ’80s supermodel (just like real life) who runs her business efficiently and like a dictator, THR said. This marks McPherson’s return to TV.In the 1990s, she was in a few movies and had a recurring role on Friends.
Others cast include Sara Paxton (The Last House on the Left), Benjamin Hollingsworth (The Cutting Edge 3: Chasing the Edge), Ashley Madekwe (Bambi on Showtime’s Secret Diary of a Call Girl) and Nico Tortorella, according to THR. According to THR, Hollingsworth will play a wholesome model who bonds with a sweet Midwestern girl (Paxton) making a splash as New York’s freshest face.
