Even Taubenfeld Goes Solo but Claims He's Still BFF's with Avril

I just read a great review of Evan Taubenfeld’s musical endeavors on www.blastmagazine.com. He’s trying to make a name for himself and move away from being known simply as Avril Lavigne’s lead guitarist. It seems that’s what every musicin who departs from Avril’s ‘grasp’ attempts to do. Mark Spicoluk attempted the same thing, with success I might add as he now owns and operates his own record label. For Evan however, although he wants to be known as “That’s Evan” not “That’s Evan from Avril’s band”, he still is proud of his time spent with Avril.

Evan explains that he and Avril are still best friends and ‘have a blast together’. I think his experience playing with Avril has taught him a lot and kick started his career in music.

Currently he is on tour promoting his new album and well I think it’s totally kick ass and reminds me of Blink 182’s – Enema of the State. Check out his tunes at his myspace page. Evan proves to be a hopeless romantic in his lyrics and will easily have all the girls swooning over him.

What do you guys think?
