OK! Magazine got the exclusive info about the new High School Musical 3 cast members! This is SO exciting! There will not be five new cast members joining, but instead 2 and they will play the roles of Jimmie and Tiara (the mini-Sharpay).
Up-and-coming actors Matt Prokop and Jemma McKenzie Brown will do their best song-and-dance alongside Zac Efron and Vanessa Hugdens, a source close to HSM3 tells OK!.
Though little is known about their roles, the source adds that the British-born Jemma seemingly scored the role of a lifetime, landing the part over hundreds of other young starlets.
Jemma is 13 years old and she beat out about 600 other girls from 3 different countries. This is Jemma’s second acting gig. She has previously had six appearances in the British series The Amazing Mrs. Pritchard in 2006.
As far as Matt’s experience, the 17 year old actor has appeared in Hannah Montana and The Office. You can check out his official site. He mentions something about a BIG announcement.
OK! is also saying that production on HSM3 doesn’t start until April.
So, what do you guys think about the new cast members? Not who we expected huh? I for one am actually pleased. I know that a lot of you wanted Selena Gomez in the movie, but she’s already becoming such a huge success. This really gives these two unknowns a great chance to boost their careers.

@Tara – I believe jemma is playing the mini sharpay and Matt is playing Jimmie “The Rocket”. I think. I’m not 100% sure though!
