Fantasia Barrino really, REALLY wanted the part of Effie in the new Dreamgirls movie. REALLYYYYY wanted it. So much, that she called Jennifer Hudson up and called her a name:
American Idol winner Fantasia Barrino was devastated when fellow talent show contestant Jennifer Hudson beat her to the part of Effie White in the forthcoming Dreamgirls movie.
Barrino, who beat Hudson in the 2004 season of the televised music contest, auditioned for the role of the troubled sixties singer, but lost out to Hudson.
She says, "I was a little hurt. I remember calling Jennifer. She picked up the phone and I said, ‘Heifer, you took my part.’"
Now, I know sometimes we girls like to kid around with each other, but this doesn’t sound like kidding around. What do you think?
And who do you think is the better singer? I say Jennifer Hudson by far; Fantasia’s got an irritating voice. Here’s two clips.

I love Jennifer and Fantasia. They are both wonderful singers. I will say this though; american idol durnig their season was heaven sent for the both of them. I feel if Jennifer had won idol. We would have problemly never heard of Fantasia again. Jennifer is not only the better singer. She is more classy and very well grounded. Jennifer singing is very easy on the ears, and she has a very wide fan base. Jennifer has music to suit all people of color, not just our black race. Jennifer Hudson is highly respected by many in the industry. She is a beautiful multi-talented artist who can hit a home run in any ball park. Fantasia is also a wonderful singer, but Jhud is the better singer and person hands down.

All This is a lie because fantasia just song to Jennifer at her Family Tragedy there for they was the best of friends in the beginning and they understood what was going on STOP ALL THIS DRAMA So irritating

P.S. The “I’m Here” performance by Fantasia at the Tony Awards was really fab!
ms bunny who ever put this post up should be the one you adress this comment to, they shoul not have posted something from when Fantasia was on Idol and compare it to a studio generated, digitally enhanced soundtrack and Fantasia is today a Broadway Star in one of the most diffcult cities as far as the industry goes and doing the most difficult job there is in the industry performing live and always giving a stand up performance.
I think the comparison is unfair and Fantasia is my home girl,they started this and as far as praying goes not only do I pray but I have also spent much money to fly and see her in the play twice, I was there opening and took my mother for mothers day what has you contribution been.. you are right about one thing..THEY SHOULD HAVE NEVER POSTED THIS AND BY THE WAY IT WAS JHUDS FAN BASE THAT DID THIS WE HAVE IT ON GOOD AUTHORITY SHE KNOWS IT AND HER PUBLICIST COULD REMOVE IT BUT THEY ENJOY THIS STUFF

Once again another idiot trying to start trouble for Fantasia. They were obviously playing. Fantasia is a better singer. That is why she has more respect in the industry from her peers and such. But afterall, Jennifer has this huge bandwagon right now so…
i’m sure that Fantasia was just kidding! if you know someone well enough to have their phone number and call them to tell them their a heifer..then it’s all good. i love Fantasia and she deserved to win american idol that season, and J Hud deserved to get the part in Dreamgirls. i’m sure there are no hard feelings there. for the movie they needed a very powerful voice that jennifer had (someone who could outsing beyonce) and they found that in jennifer. when they both sing i feel it, they are both great singers and people in my opinion. Fantasia got the perfect role in The Color Purple, so God works everything out for those that deserve it.

Can anyone feel me, and at least Fantasia kept it real and she never said she was joking. I’d rather someone be up front with me than to grin in my face and stab me in the back, I don’t know about you.
The person named Reg said in his comment on more than one occassion that Fantasia was anointed, do any of you know what that means undoubtedly not, I don’t even think JHud knows what that mean. well this is what God says and feels about His anointed if Reg really means that and it is to be true in his opinion..”toch not mine anointed…….” it’s obvious the young lady who posted this does not know God, does not fear God, it seems your goal in life is to make someone else’s life as miserable as yours, and I am going to do you and Jennifer as well as her fans a favor, she would have had this removed as she did the Gay Pride post which was very negative towards her, but she has allowed this to remain, now Fantasia and Beyonce are as valuable in Gods eyes as you are so we are going to help you out, okay. Reg, I could hug you brother, because I absolutely agree, but it one thing you did not mention that far excells talent and the is when you have learned to choose the craft and not the celebrity and I think Fantasia has learned that from her associates, and yu only mentioned Fantasia’s singing but she gives to her ability to act the same heart she gives her singing. I agree thay bothe have beautiful voices and i do have my preference but it has nothing to really do with singing abiltity but charcater something that I don’t hear mention in these who is the greatest debates. God is the greatest, first of all, and all this stuff about legends when someone has a limited resume is absurb, do the work and leave the exalting to God, Jhud has her style, Fantaisa has hers you Jhud supporters are still getting on line talking about JHud should have won Idol three years later because of an Osacar, this is sick I am really tired of it and the one who posted this was totally unfair to Fantasia, because she is growing everyday in every facet of the industry, and so what she doesn’t have an Oscar, but many of the greats don’t and won’t, but my choice is for the person who has shown uncanny strength amongst all the hate and criticism and beyond that a person whom she thought might have been a friend allowed herself to be used as a pawn to discredit her, I have today to hear her say Fantasia if I did anything to offend you or hurt you please forgive me, and will never happen probably, but the person I support holds her head up and is still in the game, with the haters still hating , and she ultimately for the African American community a real life success story which can be a testiment to all of us who have dreams or have children who have dreams and who can look beyond where they are and still believe.
I believe this perosn is going to do just fine because there is something about the God I serve and He is proving and proved it with Oprah Winfrey, oh how she was hated and still is by many blacks, but God has her back, so if you prefer Jhuds music over Fantasia does not mean she is better it is what you like and because I like Fantasia it does not mean she is better, Fantasia has a fan base and Jennifer has a fan base and we can leave at that. You don’t have to like Fantasia or buy her music, God has a ram in the bush, He proved that with the Color Purple many of you did not think she could or had a right too. That’s the biggest thing I see from the JHud camp is this unhealthy spirit of competition and these entitlement issues you have , you feel like Fantasia wasn’t entitled to win Idol, she is not have the right to sing, its like somewhere you just want to snuff her out. I think it borderlines on sickness, and an unhealthy obssession to be the best, for Oprahs comments she has recognized this, it’s so sad.
Jennifer you have the Oscar and all your other awards and all Fantasia has is Oprah and the love of her fans, leave her alone please, if it will make you happy or your fan base to say”YOU ARE THE BEST”, well I said it, but let God be true and every man a liar.
By the way Reg mentioned the Aretha tribute and the next day the LA Times (do your own research), did not mention JHud, but they did mention Fantasia in saying she tore the roof off the house.( I live in LA)
I don’t know if Jennifer and Fantasia will ever be real friends, as they both are Christians, but many
of us agree with Oprah she should stay away from Fantasia until this unhealthy desire to beat Fantasia at everything has subsided or whatever in her that needs to be dealt with is handled. That is almost a miserable existence

Jennifer Hudson is by far better than Fantasia. Her voice is good but Jennfier is better. Jennfier can go higher and has a very powerful thing to it if u no wat i mean and i saw her american idol performances and they r better than Fantasias so stop your whinning people.
