Last night the Stand Up to Cancer took over network television. I watched tearfully during a montage of people talking about their own struggles with cancer and commiserated with blogging friends who were also taking a stand against the disease that has reeked havoc on so many of our lives.
I was bawling by the time the ladies from Fashion Rocks hit the Radio City Music Hall to perform their tribute to the survivors and families of the many people affected by cancer. Somehow, the message of hope broke through my tear soaked thoughts of my step mother who was not lucky enough to survive breast cancer, and I felt the triumph in the music.
