On the last episode in June, the Doc and his PA were doing ppd testing for TB. The PA stated that if it were positive it would mean that the person has TB. In my 40 years as a health care provider and Nurse Practitioner, that was news to me. It means they have converted and that more conclusive testing shoudl be done, ie the chest X ray she got. Lay people hang on the information they get from the media and an entertainment program is no exception. I spend a lot of time telling my patients that the positive TB test does not mean they have TB, and then bam I am tripped up by a TV PA. I just wish that they would get it straight, there is enough drama and trauma in the real world without inventing more. Great show other wise and I am hooked.
